Oh , I'm an idiot. I said I've been CTDing since the latest DEI update, but it was the Windows update that started the crashing. It's when loading new or old campaigns.
I've been getting CTD's ever since the latest mod update (Dec 11th). Even tried a clean reinstall of everything and it's still happening.
Not that it matters anyway, since our perception of the Spartan hoplite as an invincible legend is just that... a legend xD
Just the one sub mod. I'll keep that in mind in the future :P
I've had crashes on campaign start using the Barcid family submod. When I disable it, it works, but as soon as I disband an army, it crashes again. Trying a clean install.
Anything that was of value to the Romans was translated to Latin and then destroyed. Everything that wasn't was just destroyed.

The Punic Wars might have been the prime example of legionary formations vs a pike phalanx (instead of the Macedonian Wars) if not for the complete destruction of Punic literary sources.
Dude, I can't believe you guys are making me keep playing Rome 2, haha.
Regarding criticizing the modding team, once I was all
"YO KAM WTF"
and he was all
"YOU RIGHT, THANKS MAN"
I have 8 gigs of RAM and it's fine. Running a 960 and i7 3770k
Peltasts and machairophoroi will absolutely tear through anything engaged with a hoplite phalanx. They're quick and agile, and you can rack up hundreds of kills on each unit.
I find the slow start infinitely more enjoyable. It lets me build up and plan a more realistic empire, rather than uniting the entire world under Pergamon by like... turn 80... I mean, even...
It's certainly more accurate to the spirit of the time period, considering all of what Hiero II accomplished, and how long the Deinomenids had been out of power.
Thanks for the replies, guys. ...
Cool, thanks for the reply. Yeah, the Deinomenids are cool, but the Hieronids were the ones who juggled Rome and Carthage for so long xD
Hm, yeah I've noticed lots of variations amongst the...
Howdy :D
I was just wondering what the logic was behind a couple of decisions regarding Sparta and Syracuse. It doesn't really bother me, but I know that KAM is a Greece fanboy, so I thought I'd...
You know if you set the reforms to their historical date and play 4 TPY that you will have to play 680 turns to trigger the Marian Reforms, right? xD
I only occupy towns, then spend time trying to settle them down, because I'm not a mass murdering douche :P
I have that CPU and a 960, but I'm constantly getting that "Decreasing graphics setting for this session" warnings before battles start, and I'm only running it on high settings. Plus, I'm not using...
I still think it's fun to play as Syracuse. A little hopeless, though. The two largest factions in the game aren't likely to make peace with a small one, and will just keep sending endless armies...
I started on normal campaign and I'm still getting walloped by the AI. Rome and Carthage declare war on me as Syracuse on the same turn almost every time I restart after being completely destroyed...
They aren't diseased. The region is out of supplies and they can't replenish.
Definitely loving 1.2 so far. In the past I only ever played as Athens, Carthage, or the Ptolomies (rarely Rome), but now I'm so overwhelmed my cool choices that I keep restarting ten turns in! I...
You literally made my weekend excellent.
Are there any changes planned for Athens? I think in the 10,000,000 games of RTW2 I've played, probably 5,000,000 of them are as Athens xD
Dude... I was so ready for that, but I saw that you didn't have an estimated release date, and so I was like "Okay, maybe next year!" I didn't get  for Hanukkah, but this is the best present I...
Wait, are you serious?
Dude this looks pretty awesome...
That'd be amazing. I think one of the most immersion-breaking things in RTW is the lack of walls on historically walled settlements.
How the hell did CA think "Magna Graecia? Brundisium should...
Wow, those look great!
Wouldn't 100 AD be 1200 turns?
I check this forum every day in anticipation, but I am also perfectly happy to wait. Sometimes I feel like mod makers are the most charitable people on the internet.
I would kill for a Renaissance-era Total War game that included the conquest of Meso- and South America.
I agree with Buuface. Chaos isn't supposed to be one faction. The only time it invades the world is when the disparate factions of Chaos manage to unite (hence: Chaos United)
If you ever end your post with "dont bann me" you should probably just shut up and not post it. You'll just piss them off and make them not want to work it. I'm still happily waiting and am very...
Haven't you guys played Empire with multiple theaters of war you could travel to?
Why did you link that? I said "...until End Times main characters almost never even died,". You just linked me the death toll from End Times xD
As somebody who has read all of the books, and used to be obsessed with ASOIAF, I really hope this doesn't happen xD
Go play the CK2 mod. It makes more sense for the setting.
Arkhan isn't a Tomb King, though, he's a Lich. While the Tomb Kings are independent of Nagash's will, Arkhan is a slave to it. He can't be a part of their faction xD (really, he should be a VC LL,...
