Re: How can I make my Rome campaign more difficult?

Slightly less painful than breaking your arms : play with the general cam and let the AI control your units.

Only take direct control of units immediatly in the vicinity of your general.
    If he...

    Re: [Army Compositions] Feedback requested

I try to have "realistic" army compositions so yes i use them quite a bit, one per stack or more for more cavalry oriented factions.
Jav Cav are usually the cheapest so they make great bait or...
  5. Re: Do rebel stacks on my territory affect the economy?

If you don't want to fight rebels, the trick is to build watchtowers : the stacks travel each turn between two watchtowers.
That mean they don't stay in the same tile more than one turn and...
  6. Re: [2.35a R3.5] No Hassle Revolts, Rebellions, Raids

Turn 65 with Pergamon and no "Galatian Shakedown" so far.
I defeated the stack roaming in Galatia and had the pop-up confirming the "Kill" but no raid or attack in Pergamon so far.

    PS : I...

    Re: Re-emerging factions

Reduce them to a very poor landlocked province and make them a vassal.

This should keep them at bay : no expansion, no war, no revolt.

That's pretty much what the roman did historically...

    Re: Help on Getai missions

I managed to get the reform turn 67 :

    - You need to sack Streuntia AND Noreia. The next turn the Northern Invasion occurs.
    - "Becoming Protector" isn't required for the reform as far as I can...

Re: Galatian stacks and Pergamon Reform

You can conquer Ankyra and let it rebel for "free" rebels stack. Very easy since rebellion is a national sport in Asia Minor in the game.

In my recent Pergamon (600 turns), I tried a...

    Re: Makedon start discussion

Here is how I did it. It's also pretty much how Antigonos did it in his time.

I use the fleet to ship the pirate guy in Korinthos.
Antigonos shoule take Pella as soon as possible. I kept some...

Re: Rebel fleets spawning in ponds

If the pond is close to a city and a storm kicks in, it will decimate the garrison (and possibly kill FMs).

It was in Alexandria-Eschate for me, really annoying.

    Re: Traits and ancillaries

To avoid the "unschooled" trait you should keep "Youthful" FM (under 20 years old) in a city with a school.
Once he is "Man Grown" (20 years old), you can move him.

I didn't look into the file...
  15. Re: Some general questions about Romani and the Grand Campaign

The triple Axis works quite well with units in "loose" formation (which is a sort of shieldwall for roman units). The gaps allow your second line to launch javelins and creates flanking opportunities...
  16. Re: Some questions and comments from playing as Baktria

Euthydemus fought the Seleucids with 10 000 horsemen in the Battle of the Arius according to Polybius.

In game I use one wing on each flank, one wing being 1 shock cavalry and 2 Horse archer....

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

I am stuck with Baktria regarding colonist... I didn't do the last mission (taking the two cities) so i don't have enough colonist to build the metropolis (turn 225).

    Maybe Baktria could obtain...

    Re: Siege-breaking army not attacking

Same. Also happen in open battle but the relief army usually start moving after the main one is routed.

The BAI doesn't seem to handle well multiple army formation.
