The Ethiopians sure know a thing or two about starting positions.

Seriously. It was literally impossible to get up there.
That still doesn't make them predestined to win no matter the circumstances.
So this is my campaign at 200 turns on h/m and as you can see the tables have really turned on nabataea: antioch, bostra, seleukeia, babylon, all of them have been taken back and they have once again...
I believe John Cleese would have a word or two to say about that
Sorry, I had to. Please don't hurt me. :(
Haha I might actually try an AAR (Though for someone who aspires to making a living out of writing, i always make sure to never actually do any :laughter:)
Should be quite interesting. Especially...
Medium probably isn't the best difficulty to be playing this game on.
Well this is the current state of affairs. I'll also post what happens after I overcome my own cowardice and declare war on them.

Slightly worried about the...
I'm playing as the sabaeans and the nabataeans are really starting to worry me: they've taken both gerrha and Qarnawu and penetrated right into the heart of the seleukids, taking both seleukeia and...
Oh you mean the tang dynasty that started in 618 AD? Not very likely.
He's scottish you twit
Deleting the graphics mod got it working. Yay!
Also I second the notion that people take too long to kill. Seriously, a trained, well-armed sabaean nobleman should not take next to 20 hits to cut...
JUst tried out vanilla m2tw and I got the same lag on loading screens, so evidently it isn't this mod's fault.
Maybe I need a reinstall or something.
Just tried putting all the the graphics settings to the lowest and, as I figured, it didn't work.
Dunno what's wrong with the campaign. Battles presumably take more power and they run really...
Battle performance is fine, although I do notice a settlement I was attacking in a quick battle against hayasdan seemed to mostly consist of medieval buildings.
I have lands to conquer installed...
No, I mean it didn't work. And my computer can easily run most newer games so I'm not really sure what's going on.
I should probably have explained better: the framerate only tanks when I move around the map or a loading screen ends. Still pretty debilitating.
So if I played as numidia, would I get hordes? :3
Would love to play it, but it currently appeears to be running at 5fps :(
I've not heard anyone complain about this, but I'm getting horrific slowdown whenever a loading screen ends or I scroll in the campaign. I can only imagine what battles would be like.
Admittedly I do despise medieval's stock fall-on-knees animation for every death regardless of circumstance, but I don't know what the EB team can really do about it.
Wonder if AI rome will make it through without being squashed like an ant this time :laughter:
I wanna leave this on overnight but I don't wanna be so mean to the planet like that.
Am at a loss right now.
what the hell is with all you getting massive download speeds
uwaaaaaa~ I want it now. :crying:
There should be name for those of us who created an account purely because of EB2's impending release. So excited about this.
But 6 hours holy .
I just find it funny how people are much more willing to question evidence under certain circumstances. :)
I was just thinking, what with that whole memory-editing thing I heard about, would that mean that we'd no longer need to migrate factions since we can go over the faction cap? Or is that whole thing...
To be honest my eyes kind of glazed over reading this discussion, so the joke went right over my head.
I'm tired ok
Oh thank god, I was wondering about the restricted recruitment thing. (Hey, remember when CA was actually ADDING features to their games?) That should make things a hell of a lot more interesting,...
So what with the AI getting cash bonuses, will fighting against, say, the seleukids become a constant grind of wave after wave of stacks? Because i always thought battles were a bit more decisive...
Is it like a tradition to bring this up every 6 months or something?
That's an odd connection to make. They also raped and murdered and exterminated entire civilisations, but last I checked most of us (most being the key word) would find that disagreeable.
You leave Shogun 2 alone aight.
Because total war fans really like being disappointed so obviously expectations will be high.
I'd laugh if they spent all this time making the game and then another five years just getting the bloody installers to work.
I've never gotten this revisionist attitude a lot of tw fans seem to get when the subject of anyone who isn't them appears.
"WIMMINZ?! NOPITY NOPE NOPE NEVER HAPPENED NEXT YOU'LL BE LETTING QUEERS...
But then I also heard that not going on hard sacrifices the AI's aggression. Is it one or the other?
Pfft, you old people and your actual problems.
And the spam, oh gods the spam.
I've never wanted to play a middle eastern faction for precisely this reason.
Are we still giving the AI money, then?
I don't know what kind of gelatinous creature would actually enjoy fullstack spam, but it made fighting factions like the ptolemies kind of a grind.
