  1. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

The mod takes a long time to load since it's pretty big. So maybe you just have to wait a little longer. It can take 5-10 mins to load unfortunately.

Also thanks everyone for your comments, I hope...
  2. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

Yep, just like Sorinel said. He made all the unique units for clans and regions.

I wasn't aware whose mods exactly we used. There was a mod for seasons we tried but it didn't work, then Sorinel...
  3. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

A quick hotfix was made. So if you downloaded the mod, download it again and extract it to your data folder, and replace the old files.
  4. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

Hello all, it's been a while. Hope you are doing well :)

Sorinel and I have been working on the first version of the mod that's good enough for release, and finally it's here! We've been testing...
  5. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

I made the sashimono models (not the textures) for the mod, and explained to the creator how to incorporate them in the mod, that's why there are so many variants. I already finished (almost) all the...

Re: Sengoku: Total War (a Shogun mod for M2TW)

Ah the AI. Yea it sucks that it's the reason you had to go that route with units, but I understand what you mean. It's nothing bad, just a bit different from the more modern TW games with huge units...

Re: Sengoku: Total War (a Shogun mod for M2TW)

Hey Razor, I missed out on a lot of updates here :P It's great to see you are still working on this awesome overhaul!

Things are looking great, the models are gorgeous as always, the level of...
  8. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

It should be pretty drastic, since the debuffs get to 50% when exhausted. Fatigue, morale and effects are reworked in our mod, but we will play around with that to find something that works.
  9. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

It's interesting. I never thought that fatigue was that broken. I always felt that it did meant something after all, because troops usually feel weaker when under fatigue. But I guess that's not true...

    Re: Sashimono

You have to do that in 3ds max. It's a process, but not too hard. Again, you need a program like ultimate unwrap 3d if you want to save those files as .obj or .fbx so you can open them in 3ds max...

    Re: edit .variant_part_mesh file?

In short, you can't. You can open the files with ultimate unwrap 3d, and then save them in a different format like obj or fbx (but you need to pay the licence for that), which will allow you to open...

Glad you made it, but don't thank me. Sara Temer deserves all the credit here as she was the one who helped me in the first place :)
  13. [Released] Re: Katana and Yari mixed unit fighting animations

It's long been dead, but this isn't hard to do. All youneed is copy animations from katana battlefragments to yari battlefragments and you will get that result. I am not sure about cavalry though as...

    Re: Sashimono

Yes you can still have variety. The way to achieve it is to add numbers to the end of the name, starting from 01,02, 03 etc. For example rigid_equip_sashimono_inf_oda01_(lod01/02...04),...

    Re: Sashimono

I had the same problem. That's because it's a variant part. You have to create new equipment item if you want proper effects, same goes for weapons. I guess the game reads equipment and variant parts...
  16. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

Well, those assets are actually not mine. They were made by Maloskero, who was working on a project of his own. He asked me if I wanted to use some of his stuff, and I liked them a lot. I haven't...
  17. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

I was having some fun in photoshop, and made a roadmap so we can visualize the project better and keep things somewhat in order. It's nothing complex, but if anyone was wondering what some of our...

[Proposal] Re: War of the West

The religion mechanic can be used as culture, as it's the only similar thing in shogun (unless something can be scripted, I don't know). Units can be tied to religion (or culture in your case) only...
  19. [WIP] Re: Shogun II Total Realism [Beta 15.10.02 released]

Sounds like a cool mod, but there are no links. Also, I have a feeling that even if samurai use katanas sometimes, their yari would be on their back (like on yari ashigaru), which looks silly imo.

  20. Re: Additional playable factions Expanded Japan

Great to see you here again :)

Sara did an amazing job figuring out this method of modding UI, definitely very helpful. I just wanna let you know that I already made many clans from your mod...
  21. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

I might have made some promises before, but I don't really want to do it again. I just don't know how long it will take. We are working on a lot of stuff like I already said. But things are moving...
  22. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

It will require RotS for campaign map textures (and possibly FotS but I'm not 100% sure as I didn't design the campaign map), and if you want 12 playable clans you will need the clan DLCs of course....
  23. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

    Thanks guys!

I'll just say the good old sentence we all love: "It's coming when it's ready" :P We should start some internal testing soon, have some things to figure out still. I'll keep you...
  24. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

Now that I'm at it, here's some Chosokabe in action against their neighbours. We are making units island by island. The two smaller ones are finished, so 'just' Honshu is left, with only about 70...
  25. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

    Thank you

We didn't discuss anything about the castles, I think they are awesome and work very well. There's maybe a few things to fix here and there but that's not a priority. Although...
  26. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

    Indeed it is :P

    Thanks!

You are probably right. I didn't want to paint all the colours exactly the same, but when you think about it the same pigments were used for colouring. I'll try to...
  27. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

There have been some changes in the development (thanks to Sara Temer again :D), so I have to rework a lot of things. Such is the nature of modding I guess.

Anyway, it turns out that equipment can...

  31. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

Not really entire mods, but some mods will definitely be an inspiration.
  32. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

There's 91 clans and 201 regions. What do you mean other mods?
  33. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

Time for a little update. I started working on uma-jirushi banners again, after finishing about half of the units.

There will be a variety of these iconic flags on the battlefields, I'll try to...

  36. Re: Information to modify sashimonos, nobori etc ...

  37. Re: Information to modify sashimonos, nobori etc ...

Those files are not for sashimono or nobori. They are for the campaign banners and battle banners. What Sara wrote is correct if you want to edit the sashimono and nobori themselves. The question...

  39. [WIP] Re: Shogun 2 in a new light - Historical Sengoku Jidai (a mod you never thought Shogun 2 needed

    Thanks :)

I don't know how practical it would be to write up over 200 regions here. Like I mentioned, I posted pics of the campaign map on page 3, so you can see most of the regions there. But as...

Re: Sengoku: Total War (a Shogun mod for M2TW)

Haha that's exactly my problem :P Thankfully shogun 2 has a decent amount of these sashimono. The only way around the issue of variety in my case, is designing units specifically for every clan. It's...
