Does this require a campaign restart? I am 100 or so turns in on a campaign with the new GC Beta and don't want to lose progress. I am playing as Rome and have pretty much just been fighting...
Found it! Thank you very much indeed.
Aha! Thansk very much, that must be it. I never had to worry about supplies when playing western factions, except for my navies, which gave a message that they were low on supplies when it happened....
As always, many thanks to everyone on the team for all their excellent work. I have really been enjoying 1.2.8 with one exception--the frequency and longevity of disease outbreaks in my armies. I am...
Thanks very much!
Has anyone figured out how to make your army stay in formation in Rome Remastered? I have tried shift/ctrl/alt right click and everything else I can think of and they still break formation as soon as...
Yeah, it is weird, never saw it before either, but is happening consistently in my Egypt campaign. It means that rebels are never a threat, but I also don't get the PO benefit from malcontents...
As always, many thanks to the team for all your very hard and talented work! I picked up an old camapign begun under the last version and noticed a strange behavior on the part of the rebel armies -...
Second this. What matters is how the game looks and how smoothly it runs, not your fps compared to what others are reporting. I think that folks get caught up on having a certain fps rather than...
Thank you!
I would love a definitive answer on this. I thought the order was the the order in which they are loaded, so I have submod after DEI 1-3. I only have faster battles and AAA: Roman Generals. I know...
Just to chime in. If you look around there are any number of recipes for improving performance. I tried some of them but was still repeatedly getting 30-45 sec slowdown/lag on the the campaing map...
Thanks for the tips! I think that I will try to take out Etruria first in my next go round. I actually did well against Epirus when defending Beneventum, taking out their elephants and most of their...
Thanks very much for the reply. I will start again and fight those sieges manually. I might also give the softcore mod a try, just to help me get started.
First off, many thanks for the countless hours everyone has spent on this mod. I am coming back to Rome2 and DEI after 5 or 6 years and while I have had no trouble getting a Roman empire going in...
I did not see a CAI only option in the 2.8 download (I am using the DEI version). Are the BAI changes in the current version?
I can confirm the same problem with the DEI version. I noticed that the ai was not recruiting--turned off the mod--they immediately begin recruiting.
Many thanks for all your work on this mod.
What if we don't have any previous versions installed? From where should we download the .gem pack? Thanks!
I agree that this is a bit unclear. So, if we want to use the 8.1 compatible 5.3 version with Steam as our modmanager what is the correct order of installation? Is it:
1. subscribe to Gem on Steam...
Well, it works without any problems as soon as I remove the Gem files from the folder, so I have to think it is directly related to them. Thanks though.
Yeah, that is exactly what I did. I will try again.
Edit - Same result - when I hit "play" on the steam interface it simply does not launch. No error message. I have tried it with forced shader...
@Zekozeko - Could you please describe your install process? Like many, I tried to install 4.2 on my Win 8.1 machine following the instructions on the first page and could not get the game to launch....
Good point, though it wasn't the effects I minded so much as the frequency of the notices.
@Dresden - thanks for your reply and explanation. Most of all, thank you for all your efforts on this and...
Glad to hear that others are seeing agent activity, it must just be a fluke in my campaign. As for the weather, I also like the seasons and having to take weather into account when planning...
Just some quick feedback from my first DeI campaign (Roma, N/N, 115 turns in). I am enjoying the mod a good deal and thank the team for all their hard work. There are two things that I have noticed...
Ah well, thank you for your reply
Hi LuciferHawk,
Have you made any progress with a new Windows 8.1 compatible version? Many thanks for all your amazing work.
I asked the BBB creators about this a few weeks back and they replied:
Quote:
This is the nature of all traits connected to a general's loss of hitpoints in battle (while playing vanilla, you...
@DrJambo - any chance you might make these changes and make the file available? ;)
This is really the key. I am a History professor at an American university and I have written on this very topic - specifically, the London press and the American civil war. The old idea that the...
Thanks for the reply - I will wait for 1.6. I would just use your EDB but, as you note, the construction costs and times will be geared toward 1ypt.
EDIT - Now that I think of it, I will use your...
Grandviz - I am definitely interested in having the ai field better armies but I use a custom mix of mods (RC, UBAI, BBB) and play 1.5 ypt. How would you recommend adapting your current and future...
@mongolwarrior - have you given any thought to tweaking the recruitment pools and refresh rates in EDB.txt to promote better ai army composition? Grandviz has adjusted your files in this manner for...
Thank you for the reply. As to the former, I think this was probably more of an army composition issue than a battlefield ai one - in both cases the AI fielded armies that were almost all archers....
some more feedback:
Fighting the Danes I have noticed several times that the AI uses its missile troops as infantry and throws them right into the fray without firing a shot. This is especially...
I gave 1.1 a quick spin in my current campaign. The good: The ai formed up nicely for a siege and then split up its forces rather than trying to cram everyone through the gates once they were down....
Possible bug report using Ult. Battle AI and RC:
I have experienced the following a number (at least 6) times - the battering ram crew stops ramming the door before they break through and move the...
Thanks for the info, I must have missed that post. I understand your choice - why include a trait if it will never appear? Also, IIRC severely wounded rather quickly becomes marked in battle, which...
I mentioned this before, but now that I am a few hundred turns in on the campaign I can confirm that my generals receive the severely wounded trait 50-75% of the time when I autoresolve battles.
