    Komatai Epilektoi (Dacian Elite Skirmishers)

    Armor rating - 5

    Too much, perhaps?

Not all men wear helmets and there's only one thorax. Description says that most of them wear greaves under...

Re: What units would you add to EBII?

    I wanna digress too! :D
Interesting thing I found out some time ago - Byzantine authors continued to use the term "Hoplitai" to denote shielded heavy infantry.

Back to EB2's Hoplitai - the...

Hoplitai never go away completely. Their recruitment pools shrink, but they're still available.

Re: What units would you add to EBII?

It depends on the unit and how much it got "upgraded" through history. For example, if you give a unit a mail shirt and a new helmet or two, the +2.5 armor it gets with the armor upgrade is...

Eburones cavalry no longer carry javelins. What they still have is Skirmish mode. Yikes.

It could be a very, very dark wool hat.

Re: What units would you add to EBII?

I'd like to see even more armor upgrades. Players get more out of a single unit visually and historical material progress (arms race, or whatever term fits best) is shown.

Good suggestion. I think it could be done if we figure out the true minimum unit slots ships need to represent truly different classes of ships (different in terms of fighting performance, cost etc)...

I am all for defusion, but I will never accept the role of on-duty culprit (I have no idea how well that term translates into English).

Mad props to everyone in the team for using their time,...
  13. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A released!

I don't think your English is humble at all. I think that you're perfectly capable of using it to try to talk down to someone under a facade of friendly assistance.

I will once again repeat that...
  14. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A released!

I do not agree. I think it's easier to see it on a different example. If you used the same method to cut off the Iberian peninsula from today's France, factions from one side would still attempt to...

Yeah, it's not ideal. The main point of having retainers and retinues is that one has someone reliable at his side on the battlefield. Perhaps the Argoi and the retainers unit can be fused into one...

  18. Re: Rad looks at things - a thread for visual improvements

    Cisalpine swordsmen!

Great looking unit in all three versions.

However, the middle and the late version might need some visual tweaking.

  23. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A released!

How come? I don't keep such high numbers of troops in garrison because I'm bored, I keep them because they are needed. Please read my above post - I keep 20 unit garrisons in newly conquered,...

Quick question. Are there plans to redo the Celtic cavalry (both light and nobles), Argoi and Nedes Nesamoi?
The redone spearmen, swordsmen and Bataroi are a great improvement!
  25. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A released!

That means that the rebel script won't influence the size of my garrisons. Most of them were around 10 units anyway, with newly conquered, distant, rebelious and border regions sporting a full stack....
  26. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A released!

The new rebel script now spawns 8 unit armies, right? Yeah, I will still need a garrison, but if above discussed changes are introduced, I will need around 10 units, instead of 20 units and the...
  27. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A released!

Good, it sounds like an improvement. The CAI was aggressive in 2.35, but it didn't launch many naval invasions.
  28. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A released!

What version are you playing, 2.35 or 2.35A? I played on VH/VH as well.
  29. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A released!

Yeah, you haven't figured out how to limit that one yet :)

That's a gross over-exaggeration and extremely unlikely to happen during a campaign and you know it. I have no such desires as well....

Fair point about the land route not being historically viable. AI won't be able to launch committed naval invasions, though. Maybe a raid every now and then. The result - more of the player's...

Re: Rad compares units - a thread for balancing.

@realm56 Katusages' armor rating should be reviewed due to their armor upgrade. If the team is right and the armor upgrade gives an additional +2.5 armor instead of +1 armor, that would mean that...
