Hi Dei Team and fans,
I've been ticking quite a few turns on my current campaign as Rome (as you can see in the Punic War Post) but have yet to find how to recruit Artillery. I understand that...
I just chipped in another few turns tonight and I am pleased to report that the deadlock in Africa is finally over. After investing mad amounts of money into my client states they finally declared...
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1458001334While in theory this is what RII is all about the new DEI version puts that plan to rest. Out of all the armies I field all except one...
Will this new update mess up DEI ? I kind of like where my game is going at the moment I just don't want to see it go :-(
I have a feeling that mods have kept Rome 2 alive with substantial amount of traffic. CA probably had planned to let it die after the EE edition but seeing that people and modders will play and mod...
I stopped using that all together. It is so random there's no way of knowing the outcome ....
Allright chaps I am back after a few weeks off from DEI. I've clocked in another 70 turns during the weekend. 2 things are clear to me now with this version:
1. You and your empire are not...
Allow me to be your wingman
Thank you for your service.
Well I would advise using your treasury as a weapon to drag the war to them as well. I got the Seleukids to join me in the war against Egypt. That stopped the flow of landing armies in Greece...
Its fascinating to see that you guys did not get dragged on in other wars . (yet I am after all 70 turns further than you)
While I did land in North Africa and take carthage they remain strong...
As you can see a 144 turns in I am very far from mopping the floor with anyone. Any bad move on my behalf or if I leave any relation go sour with one of my powerful neighbors and I could get stuck...

When Egypt lands to take your cities they go big !...
I need to spend time uploading pictures but whenever I am home I just want to push that campaign further because it is simply so much fun !
I've finally put in place my invasion of the Carthage...
Well I would advise you to pick your front very carefully. You will stretch yourself thin very quickly and the AI will wear you down. I'm a 120 turns in now and I've finally destroyed the Thracians....
Try and make friends early that should limit the wars you'll get served.
Good news everyone ! Keralis has fallen !
I must say the more time goes on in this campaign the harder it seems to get. The war with the Thracians seems to be far from over and despite my best...
Carthage is a real foe at sea. I've got two legions stuck in Corsica without any opportunity to strike a Sardinia. Every time I make a move Carthage raids Corsica and re-takes the island from me...

Happy birthday old sport ! Thanks for being one of the many stars shedding light on this community.
Go check out my answer on the Punic War thread ... Playing as Rome kind of went the same way until some Thracians went D-day on me. Completely swung the campaign around.
Trying to post pictures but Image function doesn't seem to work anymore:
The Landing Party (4th stack is too the right off screen):

The absolutely chilling...
I did notice that a lot of the liberated factions seem to be varied in governance
3. I found out yesterday that it is indeed the case - Sweet surprise !
Thanks for helping out Jake
Any charitable soul to answer my above question.
Well now they are just very good at ferrying troops back into Sicily. Be warned Carthage doesn't go quietly into the night anymore.
Ok I 690 hours on DEI I have never seen this happen ...
1. The CAI beach landing 4 Stacks in one spot - Not city landing
2. The CAI refusing to be dictated battle terms and retreating for more...
I find that the African flunkies are tame on land but really hitting me hard at sea ... Which is a first. I never had a navy before as it was a waste of money since naval battles where few and far...
Kam how many of those experimental packages have you produced over the years ?
I still remember the days where you had rollo from viking as your avatar. Times zooms past us ...
So far they are holding up fine on my end.
Only if you give away your first born son ... !
Allright here are my observations:
1. The AI seem to be liberating a lot more factions in 50 turns that I have ever seen in 600 hours on RII DEI.
2. The AI is a lot more willing to trade if you...
Well right now I just started getting involved in a war with Syracuse after kicking Epirus in the ball sack and out of Italy. I naively though a quick two stack siege would paint syracuse into my...
How about increasing army limits then? If we indeed reach a plateau just because of that perhaps we should have access to a larger number of armies to have some patrol the rear? I haven't reach that...

This post is a shameful display ... ( I had to )
Icenii vs bactria ... you'll grow old before you meet :p
What difficulty are you playing in ? I'm about to step into Sicily and wouldn't want to get dragged into this.
How far did you expand ? I spend quite a lot of time polishing my diplomacy skills...
I remember very well launching Rome 2 for the first time: Playing the prologue and getting annoyed at it.
I then stumbled the glorious D.E.I 0.85 (?) (remember that version boys? With everyone...
It is no doubt one of the coolest situations when the AI follows you on your expansion path and challenges your authority. I remember very well my let's play on the previous version of D.E.I where I...
Well the gameplay is on point for Warhammer but the scaling back is noticeable on a lot of things. Overall good games so far ( I did play table top between reading history books on classical...
