Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

Off the top of my head, we would have to:

-edit all the events and scripts that have date-based triggers, from reforms to migration events, not to mention either setting certain event_counters...
  2. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

Guys, can we keep it civil please? Discussion of the streams mentioned here is fine, but if it turns to simply bashing the streamer (which, to be clear, it hasn't so far) I'm going to exercise...
  3. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

If his review were to boil down to "many people will not like this mod, it's too niche-oriented", as mentioned in his stream, I'd personally be fine with it. EB II's propably never going to be...
  4. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

In summary, he said he was disappointed and preferred EB I. But he also said he wouldn't stream it again and there's a second stream on his channel, so yeah.

    Legendoftotalwar, a total war...
  5. Sticky: Re: Faction difficulty ratings (your help is needed)

I appreciate the sentiment, but I can't finish it without feedback on the difficulties.
  6. Sticky: Re: Faction difficulty ratings (your help is needed)

*sigh*, TWC really seems to hate me posting here nowadays. Editing this post to make some more sense now...

EDIT: OK, so the EB II team really needs some feedback on how difficult the various...
  7. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

I had plans to revamp the faction difficulty screen a few months ago, but then I went AWOL and nothing came of it. But I think there's a separate thread on here I'd like to revive to get some...

Sticky: Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread

I would argue policy is a better form of proof, because words are wind. Here's a quote from Lenin on the establishing of democracy in 1905 (emphasis mine):

Alright then, let's hear those sources; the good people of this forum can judge their validity for themselves (speaking as a usual lurker with an interest in the debate :whistling). But I do want to...

As far as I know, it does. Thanks for the confirmation. :)
  11. Re: Tale of the Week 284: It is only when you fall that you learn whether you can fly - SUBMISSION THREAD

431 words. I hope the foul language is allowed.

You’d think they would try to be less annoying. Pissing off the guy holding a gun to your head is never a good idea, but doing so after you WRECKED...

Re: The thread for horrible suggestions

I mean, we can joke about it, but Paradox recently legitimately included this in their strategy game :

It's an easter egg event of course, shouldn't fire...
  13. Re: [suggestion] Discord server for Europa Barbarorum community

I'm not sure getting paid for work on a mod would be legal actually. We do offer people the option of donating to keep our internal server and data repository running however, though I don't think...
  14. Re: Where are the Pontic Mountains and the Taurus Mountains in Anatolia?

Well, then I have another one to add (and the one I thought I should have used): I don't know what the academic consensus on this is, but some believe the ancient name for the Aegean was Αρχιπελαγος,...
  15. Re: Where are the Pontic Mountains and the Taurus Mountains in Anatolia?

Maritsa is definitely modern, ancient would have been Hebros I believe.

EDIT: don't want to peek, so I assume Alasia (should be Kypros) for the Bronze Age name and Halys for the modern name.

Poll: Re: Syrian Archers and Europa Barbarorum 2

Yeah, there's certainly evidence for bowmen during e.g. the Assyrian era, just nothing I've found so far during the Classical or Hellenistic periods... This may not be weird given the dearth of...
  17. Sticky: Download Links for the Player Guide for EB II 2.35

Although the player guide compiled for EB 2.35 is packaged in with the download and installation of said version, we also have some separate download links to the PDF file and it was high time they...

Poll: Re: Syrian Archers and Europa Barbarorum 2

The primary sources for Magnesia are Livy and Appian if I'm not mistaken. I'm not familiar with the exact minutiae how modern-day academia treats these sources, but IIRC the biases are usually more...
  19. Re: Where are the Pontic Mountains and the Taurus Mountains in Anatolia?

I dunno, wasn't around back then. It may very well have been left unfinished due to a lack of available mappers.
  20. Re: Where are the Pontic Mountains and the Taurus Mountains in Anatolia?

We might consider it, if we had an active member with the skills required.

Well, uhm, was there such a thing as "Syrian archers" before the Romans showed up (i.e. to what degree is the term a Roman invention to refer to all inhabitants of that province and/or is the...

  27. Re: Would the Basternae make a good faction?

I mentioned it was WIP for a reason.

Some secrets are to be kept (unless Quintus ruins my fun, that is). ;)
  28. Re: Would the Basternae make a good faction?

By way of answer I will post the current (WIP, perhaps) description for the Turanian enclave building. All credits go to Arjos:

I will remark that not all of these enclaves have their associated units yet. ;)

    Re: Europa Barbarorum II FAQ

1 Yes. 2 Yes. We tested this in multiplayer, 1v1 using the Polybian and Camillan equites. These differ only in one stat, the latter have (or had at the time, dunno if still true today) one less...
  31. Re: Would the Basternae make a good faction?

Uhm, despite their name, they aren't immediately available to Pontos; they're from the northwestern coast of the Black Sea (Pontos Euxeinos; hence their name).
  39. Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.3 released!
