How many Macedonian players are going to largely ignore Persia and focus on Italy instead?

Re: Call Of Warhammer - BOTET Alternative Cut

What are you plans to keep the large factions like Empire from dominating everything? I suppose the High Elves in the mainline BoTET could do the same, as could the Lizardmen and I think Dark Elves.
  3. Re: [V 5.5!] The Historical Units Region Buildings Mod! (6 New Factions/ Units/ Map / Buildings)

Being of a high station affords one certain advantages, this is as true today as then. And it certainly helped the Sultan keep his prisoner off his guard.
  7. Re: More than one catapult variant possible in the future?

Since you can't sap, I think the artillery as it is is a useful if unfortunately inaccurate alternative. The factions that get these units are surely the only ones who were advanced enough to sap...

Re: What's EB team opinion on Imperator: Rome

The only thing I think Creative Assembly could learn from this game is in making a quite frankly brighter physical map. Rome 2 is so brown, Warhammer is so gray. Imperator's farmland looks great.

  18. Re: Does EB2 manage to portray actual warfare in it's time period?

Hot take: You wouldn't want to play a truly faithful representation of ancient battles and that's just from a video game perspective, not even mentioning virtual reality or some such thing.
  19. Re: Now that v2.35 has dropped, what are you doing with it?

I'm waiting for Roma_Victrix to build the Roman empire with Nabatea or something out of the blue, but neglecting the much closer Mesopotamia in favor of Britain or Spain or something.

    Re: SSHIP - General Discussion

Hey, it's better than sending your 9 unit army in Chivalry 2 Sicilian Vespers to besiege a large town with 2 units in it, only to be attacked by 17 units sallying out of the settlement.
  22. Re: What would the release of Medieval 2 Total War Definitive Edition mean for EB?

Them "coughing up" the tool they use to interface with 3DS Max for making maps would benefit the community even if it's only a scant few that even have access to it. Good luck getting CA to do that....

Re: Tips and Tricks - For new EBII players

I simply see no way that there could be 100k men in the Bar Kochba revolt at any given point. I mean that's as many men as the IDF actually deployed in the Six-Day War.

Yeah I followed the rules, couldn't get 2.5 to work, added 2.6 and got this mess. I've been trying to get it so I can play a submod, about to quit trying.

Re: Real Combat 2.0 (Ultimate Edition)

There's really no benefit to including India and China, at least as part of a historically-accuratish mod. Doing that makes it impossible to reflect the myriad of factions in each area.

  35. Poll: Re: The TW series is dead. Everything after Medieval II sucks!

Total War campaigns have always really been there to give context to the battles.

However what CA likely found is that unless a battle is close in auto-resolve people generally don't play them.
