    He should only be wounded, not die. But it only happens in campaigns started after the latest update (in theory). It could be that setting still isn't working properly.

    There are many vanilla models used in the mod. I am not sure about that specific one, it could be that either it is meant to be a cinematic or general's skin. Its also possible the VMD you are using...

    The game report on crashes doesn't help with isolating causes from mods.

    The usual issue is a mod conflict or bad install of some type. The first suggestion is to always reverify your game files.

    For vanilla, I believe the retained some of the old buildings to make sure its save compatible but at this point no one would have those saves with those...

    There is also a crash in the ED campaign with Palmyra and it was in vanilla also, I can't figure out what it is yet. Usually it happens if they are being killed off.

    In the new launcher you can compile a startpos with Rome 2 (although it seems to hang/stop but it does work...sometimes). In Attila you can't. It is a problem, though, for mods making new startpos...

    It shouldn't run any differently from other campaigns. It should actually run better since the map is smaller and it has less reforms.

    It could be a mod launcher issue, the new launcher has real problems with submods. Many have to use the old launcher.
