Just a quick question, I think I've played like 2000 hours with DeI on the Grand Campaign, I was wanting a bit of a change and was hoping someone would be able to tell me, which of the DLC campaigns...
This is absolutely fantastic, thanks a lot guys!
I'll be honest I've played hundreds of hours as the barbarian factions and have asked several times and I still have no idea how the barbarian supply lines work; from what I can tell you don't really...
Absolutely loving these changes guys, fantastic work!
Seems like a big buff to the Barbarian factions :)
Hello,
I've been playing as Getae and have been trying to use the ranged units effectively. I've noticed so far that the Slingers are ~~25% more expensive than the Archers and yet frequently get...
Hey guys, great news to hear so much progress on the update!
I've been thinking about starting a new campaign but prefer to play the officially released versions as opposed to the Betas, I was...
Firstly you need more money.
The 4 province region you start in has 3 fishing ports, so you can get either industry income or commerce from that, just choose whichever you prefer. Do the other...
Getae is easily my most played faction amusingly. Their economy is actually very strong however you must rush it and take advantage of the barbarian's unique bonuses to tech, buildings and raiding....
Helots are fantastic for soaking up damage and chasing off archers, Spartan elite infantry is so good that you just need to keep it alive and doing damage while your generals level up; allow the...
Barbarian army made of 80 units of militia spearmen across 4 stacks
Changes look great KAM! Probably a silly question but is this pack going to be added in to the main game or kept more as a side mod?
Thanks!
Hi, I'm not sure whether this is a bug but early game i only ever seem to get the fighting traits on agents, and all of my generals are either intellectuals or commanders. Is this intentional or a...
Aaah okay i see, yeah man just keep doing what you're doing it's cool :)
i've just always had a lot of trouble levelling up brawler specifically; commander and intellectual have never been a...
^
This - given how successful DeI is, and that the modders after 6 years are basically experts at modding total war games, have you tried approaching CA personally to see if they'd release some of...
Hey guys, i've just been wondering if there's been any update on this? :)
Thanks!
The main one i'm trying to level up atm is brawler; i just have a few questions to go with it,
- Does...
Wow, this is absolutely fantastic news, thanks guys!
Just one question, in what particular ways have you changed the hoplites please KAM? Just so i can get a basic idea of how to use them in their...
Thanks a lot Dresden that would be great, I'm not wanting to game the system so to speak; just trying to get a general outlay of how to level my generals, as I seem to keep getting terrible officer...
Hello, I understand general's traits change based upon their actions; win a battle, officer goes up, bodyguard all dies, brawler goes down, etc.
I was wondering if there's anywhere I could find...
I usually play barbarian factions, they have a really good early game but a pretty weak late game, and you don't need population to recover armies unlike greeks/romans, so looting is much better.
...
Aaaah thanks a lot for that Dresden, it'll really change how some of my campaigns go, a barbarian economy is now very viable :)
I can't believe i missed it in the change notes hah, cheers anyway!
Just regarding the latest patch, many thanks for the work dev team, overall some great changes, but i was just noticing that the changes to the agriculture edict 'export food' to include the two...
I always find slingers better against Barbarians than archers (no armour), and you can use them in melee, heh. AI does just blob and charge unfortunately so the archers certainly can work :), however...
Playing Iceni, had ~~10 ships, tried to ram enemy transports (no navy, just transports), and got absolutely annihilated, they just instantly boarded me, their transport ships took absolutely no...
Only if I'm playing Sparta, wherein i spec my regions specifically for 1st class. Do this by 1st having them reach 50k population, then turning taxes to high (boosts 1st class), get the region to...
Any barbarian army is basically ambush land. You get 15% bonus to ambushes just by using it, so if it says 75% in the forest it's effectively a 90% chance.
So make lots of cheap ambush armies....
When playing Barbarian factions you tend to use a lot of light (peasant) infantry, and take high casualties (which is fine because they're easy to replace).
A problem with this is that your...
Try normal unit size, makes it far more challenging, AI seems to perform better
Cool yeah, you're never going to bother with export food using it to make money from farms; the amount of money farms provide is just so so low compared to the money you can make from industry. If it...
Ah indeed, it is a good system, i like it. After the edit it should be super useful :)
Barbarian Livestock buildings give income as "Agriculture (Livestock)", but give a bonus to the Export Food edict as "Agriculture", which does not boost their income, and makes Export Food not worth...
Yeah, it's definitely unfortunate, hopefully it might be an easy fix for the team. I'd definitely agree that's a good thing to post on the feedback thread, i'd have posted it myself if i knew there...
I've just tested Export Food, and it seems that the "Agriculture" it boosts is only the agriculture from farms (which provide a very low income).
-It's the same from the main building chains;...
I see, damn. I'm trying to level brawler up, but you need to lose 10% of your bodyguard unit to level it for each level; you have to do this in like 10 battles, so if your general has the same stats...
Including a very hefty price tag. You get your legionnaires, I'll get for the same price a barbarian medium spear and 3 javelin units :):)
Besides defining legionnaires as medium infantry might be...
Oh i see, that is quite interesting actually. Does the general himself have more HP than his bodyguard then? I am trying to think of some way to use the bodyguard but keep the general alive, hah.
Wait wait wait, I'm looking at it now, and it appears that the Iceni general actually stands at the front of his bodyguard unit?!?! Please, someone tell me the logic of this ha ha .. ?!?!
Nope not Chariots, I'm using the most heavily armoured Iceni infantry bodyguard, 70 armour.
So I take it it's just bad luck then, hah. I always thought the general stood at the back of the unit,...
