Try loading a previous savegame, it might be some thing happened during the turn that caused a bug... Otherwise it might not be fixable...
There is a comparable system in Mos, though its not called the heir crown. Its a special ancillary unique to each faction.

One hint that works for me (though I have to say at turn 100 there aren't much enemies left) keep on micro managing. Don't get lost in the boring macro management of your kingdom but keep showing...
It requires TATW 3.1, so not 3.2 the latest version. This mod is also not being worked on. I recommend trying out MOS with RK as it comes closest to this mod.
Don't forget about brothels! Their higher tier buildings also provide a growth bonus.

what I usually do is this: I position the unit sidewards to the enemy with the general furthest away. When they come close I charge and then the general will be at a pretty safe position
