  1. Sticky: Poll: Re: End of Antiquity Campaign: The First Crusade (612 - 710)

No, it's incredibly unlikely this will ever see the light of day. No one had the free time or skill to see this through.

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

I'd prefer no one be able to "retrain" units but here we are.
  3. Sticky: Re: [Feedback] Questions, Critiques and Requests for 1.2

Well I could always cross check the add-on and the mod's files and make changes there, no need for you to do anything.

Re: What is the best Total War game?

With all the mods available I'd have to say it's Medieval 2 and its large catalog. Perhaps Rome 2 or Attila will one day be able to receive the same love from the community and be as moddable, but...
  5. Sticky: Re: [Feedback] Questions, Critiques and Requests for 1.2

Found what I'm looking for with a Testudo module, should fit my needs pretty well.
  6. Sticky: Re: [Feedback] Questions, Critiques and Requests for 1.2

Is there a submod that touches only reforms, bringing them to a closer to historical date? To each their own but I feel like Marian reforms in 240 BC is pretty silly, but basically inevitable even...

    Re: Warhammer III announced.

Speaking of Khorne I just want Valkia the Bloody. Fortunately GW isn't going to turn down any girlpower in this day and age, though I don't care for most of the female characters in lore.

Re: G-7 In Complete Disarray, increasingly Irrelevant; Europeans Refuse To Obey America (This Is History in Motion)

Any global economic forum that doesn't include the world's second-largest and fastest-growing economy is immediately suspect. At this point it's pretty much a select group of NATO countries and Japan.
  9. Re: CA/SEGA uses material without its creator consent!

This gentleman can sue if he feels so strongly about it, but I doubt he has much of a case. At any rate you need to stop this, all you're doing is trying to stir up trouble.

    Poll: Re: Venus vs. Mars

Venus has significantly more potential to be turned into a self-sustaining ecosystem. Gravity most similar to Earth means it's much more possible to give it a similar gas composition. Getting rid of...
  11. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35A R2 released!

I guess the game has a soft spot for Scipio Africanus's much lesser known brother.

So the less settled and more "tribal" factions then. Makes sense.
  13. Re: Does the AI cheat at both "very hard" and "legendary" level of difficulty?

Are you having trouble with the game?
  14. Re: New Historical total war era - Total War: Three Kingdoms!

CA and Sega expected a bunch of DLC sales, but turns out the Chinese customers they were chasing are more savvy than their western counterparts and want whole games and aren't willing to wait and pay...
  15. Re: Tsardoms Total War - FACTION PREVIEW: The Kingdom of Bohemia

Would we perhaps be better served just fudging things a bit and putting Prague on the map as close as we can? The Historical Unit Rosters and Buildings submod for Stainless Steel put two cities right...
  16. Re: INVASIO BARBARORUM 2 Mods for Rome Total War Remastered?

You'd probably be better asking this in the IB (BI) forums.

Sticky: Re: Tsardoms Total War - General Discussion & Progress

Probably doubtful, they didn't become an Ottoman family until after the Serbs were defeated in 1371. Though I suppose a few of them could spawn later outside of the system.

    Re: Total War Rome: Remastered

So Feral basically admitted defeat on the faction limits. That's disappointing but basically what I expected. Looks like hope still lies in the projects to map mod later games.

    Re: Rome Total Realism Remastered!

I just hope it's a bit less Roman-centric than RS2/3 but starting at the same date would be interesting.

Re: Does this article hides something?

Come on. The header shows a Minas Tirith that's basically a copy of the Return of the King movie. Nothing from the Rome Lord of the Rings mod would begin to be suitable to import into a modern game....

    Re: Rome I remastered

Seems like you'd pretty much need to make units from scratch. The rest looks like it's just been upscaled a bit.
  24. Re: Historical Question regarding panoply of Thureophoroi/Thorakitai.

Wouldn't the ability to throw a javelin or shoot a sling with some skill be pretty common among Hellenistic civilians, whether they have military service or not?

Sticky: Re: Tsardoms Total War - Version 1.5 Release

I think there's nothing wrong in assuming Janissaries were more disciplined, as they were low-born men who owed their status to the Ottoman state. They had to be, as the 15th and early 16th century...

You have enough enemies without upsetting the Genoese, though they don't necessarily understand why they occupy Galata and seem to think that it's a foothold for conquering your capital.

I doubt they'd explicitly lie, but I don't see lifting the faction cap as necessarily bringing it above what Medieval 2 did. Maybe the engine modding guys have a good idea of what can be done when...

    Re: SSHIP - General Discussion

I mean maybe the RTW Remaster will show CA that there's a market for the older style games and we could get a remastered and expanded Med2. However I would not at all hold my breath on that.

It's possible to some degree via scripts. De Bello Mundi has one.
