You could quite simply edit the export_descr_buildings.txt file and remove all listed gunpowder units so they cannot be trained (save compatible).
This mod would be perfect if it had the "Disable RR, AoR ON/OFF" options like the bugfix compilation has :(
After having put so many hours into these games, having the better (looking) units unlock...

Thanks a lot, I struggled to disable Fire Rank By Rank and just couldn't disable it,
but simply changing the 1 to 0 disables it, so thanks a lot! FRBR makes battles over quick..
Simply remove their lines from the "export_descr_buildings", or use a hidden resource tag to make it available for your country only.

I'd recommend using version II of that mod, III/IV is too complex and somewhat buggy/CTD causing.

since I always hated it in any Total War game that factions get big relatively quick..

For some reason, the food from the port that I removed - still counts towards the food supply.
I did check if ships could 'dock' with it, but they cannot.
I've played 40 turns and so far no issue...

Randomly, then long then short - all has the same effect.
Tried that to no avail.
That is what I mean, I always do that but for some reason it:
-Flickers extremely fast
-Not visible from certain angles/heights
-Often not working at all
