  1. Re: Valve leaks Steam game player counts

With the release cycle of TW 3 Kingdoms and the massive sales success it has, I expect it to breach the 3-5 million bracket in the next year or so. After DLC and other content comes out, it should be...
  2. Re: Is anyone else feeling a bit jaded with Total War?

I was actually looking at some videos on The Great War channel and a Victorian TW, just after Napoleon TW but before WW1, would be fantastic.

Re: The Popularity of Three Kingdoms

I definitely expected that the sales success of TW 3 Kingdoms to translate / reverberate in the social media / forum aspect but this has not been the case for some reason. The game is solid,...
  4. Re: Is anyone else feeling a bit jaded with Total War?

Regardless of the next game, TW needs a new engine and fast. It's very obvious in TW 3 Kingdoms that despite it being a very solid game which I personally enjoy a lot, the core mechanics are still...

  7. TW 3 Kingdoms Collectors Edition... not quite the others

Way way bigger than any other Collectors Edition to date. Below is my personal collection - ok some of them are missing, I left them out, but just so you can see for scale.

    Re: 10 years at TWC

Quite daunting, another 3000... took me 14 years to reach 7000, so that will take some time :D
  9. Re: Is anyone else feeling a bit jaded with Total War?

TW needs a new battle engine to make battles different.

  11. Re: Thoughts on the Three Kingdoms Release

2 cents here - as a TW veteran closing in on almost 20 years, I really recommend TW 3 Kingdoms. :)

I actually have it in 2 copies, in fact, since I have 2 Steam accounts. The game is visually...

Re: [RELz] Total War: Alexander III

Hey 20ninescene - just popped in from the main TW announcement page, congrats on the work that you put in!

I really liked RTW Alexander as a game and this looks very cool.

Archers are really powerful in this game - and extremely weak to defend as well.

Sticky: Re: Three Kingdoms Praise Thread

Collectors Edition of TW 3 Kingdoms has arrived and it's huuuuuge. It's 4-5 times bigger than the S2TW Collectors, it's a small box, almost like a trunk, bright red and filled with goodies.

    :D
  16. Re: Veterans of TW, are you buying this game?

Speaking of faction leaders, MTW 1 had this incredibly annoying bug that forced a lot of people to cheat to even finish a game. Faction leaders would be replaced at 56 years old, which meant that if...
  17. Re: Veterans of TW, are you buying this game?

I'm glad someone mentioned the Rome 1 TW launch, it took 5 patches and more than half a year until it got relatively decent. M2TW was a smooth launch but RTW was horrendous.

    Empire was the worst...
  18. Re: Veterans of TW, are you buying this game?

I also purchased the Collectors Edition just now for myself, should be interesting.

Re: So i brought the game and.. urghh

Keep in mind that the economy is still similar to what Empire has - small towns, cities & trade in between. The tech tree is actually quite balanced and I really enjoy the diplomacy aspect.

  21. Re: 3K just sold One Million Copies, confirmed by CA

I personally don't think they will touch Medieval 3 until they do another Empire TW style game.
  22. Re: Veterans of TW, are you buying this game?

I own every single TW historical game, with Collectors Editions most of them + TW Eras included. My first experience was with Shogun TW back in 2000, so I'm as old as possibly can be on this. :)

  29. Re: Notre-Dame de Paris is on fire and burning to the ground

    Vaulting.

The vaulting, being made of stone, shielded the entire structure beneath it, which is why also the altar is almost intact. Those who made it were phenomenal.
  30. Re: Notre-Dame de Paris is on fire and burning to the ground

Fortunately, all of the famous stained glass windows - including the Rose Window - are intact!
  31. Re: Notre-Dame de Paris is on fire and burning to the ground

Let's not pretend this hasn't happened before - the spire that collapsed was actually from the mid-19th century, made by Viollet Le Duc, not from the original one made in 1200. Most buildings have to...
