    Re: Recruitment suggestions

On the very first item on that list, in the patch you will see a lot fewer Balearic Slingers.

    Re: 12 Turns per year

There's no submod, you'd have to write it. That will necessitate reworking every single date-based item in the script and the EDCT.

    Re: Recruitment suggestions

It's the other way around. There are only a limited number of Client Ruler units (13 to be specific), and the closest fit that could be managed for Illyria is the Italic Client. We can't give every...

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

    This:

Patch over 2.35. Which means if your game is currently installed in Program Files or Program Files (x86) the patch probably won't work.
  5. Re: Yavana Guild Broken - Wrong Culture

Intentional, remembering that the "Yavanas" are Greeks. Eastern Imperial is the Hellenised Persian culture.

What government is that appearing twice? I don't recognise them from icons alone.

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

Native colonies have been completely re-written in the patch. There's a more tangible benefit of upgrading, they go from 6 to 8 to 12 point pools. It does mean there's less in the first tier, but...
  7. Re: Getting rid of the family tree. Will it break anything?

It isn't, but as highlighted, mechanically the alternative is even worse.

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

We don't use PSFs in greater numbers because it messes with the CAI. The AI thinks they're proper settlements and focuses on them to the exclusion of actually defending their proper settlements.

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

There are the early events like the Illyrian pirate raids which simulate some of that.

We could potentially do something with Authority-linked unrest, though that will all need to be factored into...

    Re: Recruitment suggestions

There was some discussion of a Romanised late version of the Machairophoroi, but it wouldn't happen as soon as the ThorakitaiReform if it were implemented.

    Re: A question about Rome

The mod stops in 14AD, there will never be legionaries with lorica segmentata.

The only imperial unit that will appear when we've done the Imperial reform are the Praetorian Cohors.

    Re: EB-Twitter updates Discussion

A soliferra is a solid chunk of iron robust enough to be thrown repeatedly. If you already had it in your hand, why wouldn't you use it in melee?

    Re: Map of Hellenic Poleis

Ironically, we did downgrade Alexandreia to a polis_two some time ago in the development build. Thus it is in the patch.

However, we didn't upgrade Kyrene, part of the motivation for the...

    Re: Hidden resources location?

Dacia is outside the Epirote sphere of influence. The inability to build a Native Admin there is intentional.
  19. Re: Does FactionTurnStart trigger for extinct factions?

No, I mean the backup in the Calendar Events section towards the end of the script.
  20. Re: Does FactionTurnStart trigger for extinct factions?

Doesn't matter whether or not they're alive, the ultimate fallback script uses the Rebel turn.

Re: Polybian Reform takes 33 turns ?

    As noted:

Intentional. Pergamon isn't the only one, there are a host of places which start the game depleted of professional units by script. These are war-ravaged regions at game start, which...
  22. Re: Suggestions to make light infantry/cavalry more viable

Unfortunately, a lot of these suggestions are counter to the intent of the current battle model, which is aimed with realism in mind, not gameplay.

They also seem to be predicated on the flawed...

Re: Polybian Reform takes 33 turns ?

Event_counter switches reset recruitment to 0, then the pool has to refill. That's how things work in the game, mechanically.
  24. Re: Epistateia epi Hellenas (KH) broken

The whole point of the kh6 is to give you the option of polis-like recruitment in places that are highly Hellenised, but don't have one already (eg Olbia, Nikaia, Rhegion). Precisely because KH can't...

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

No, the fallback should only happen if they haven't already occurred for some reason.

I'll go back and check the calendar script.
  26. Sticky: Re: v2.35 has been released - please do NOT report any bugs if you are playing with previous versions

Good catch, updated in the patch.

Hotfix implies something that works without a new campaign. Any change to the script would require a new campaign.

You are exactly correct, that's a process sequencing error on my part. The order goes:

    I'll correct that, good catch.
  29. Re: [Pergamon] Pergamon Hegemony not triggering?

I seem to remember the Galatian Independence script was a bit broken in 2.35?
  30. Re: I don't know if this is a Bug or a MTW2 Thing video included

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

No, there's no condition that can check public order in a single monitor, that would hugely over-complicate it. The largest spawn does cause unrest and depopulation (representing the elites leaving...
  33. Re: Question about Poleis/Supervised Native Administration
