Fantastic news, can't wait to download the newest version
It looks useful, at least for moving the general out of the way when you need to save him
That's too bad you have to change the file manually, I'm sure someone can write a simple script to make it 100x faster (I can't though). I have changed EDU unit sizes in the past and it's a pain.
If you believe your solutions will fix known problems with forts to a large enough extent, I will be very happy to install the mod myself. Looks very promising and it's something I wished could be...
I'm also going to play EB2 for years precisely because there doesn't seem to be any realistic historical battle games coming up. Exact casualty percentages, rallying after a rout or the speed at...
I'm surprised this isn't in the base mod—quite an easy change to implement, discussion about the decision will probably take longer.
I have a 2.3 semi-historical savegame of the Romans around turn 550 I think. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. Haven't started a 2.35 game yet.
I'd kill to have these unit cards and icons in my game.
Can't wait to use this submod in my new campaign once I'm done conquering 2.3 with my marian cohortes.
+1
I haven't checked game files but their movement speed is certainly way too fast. They run much faster than any other infantry I've seen so far (Celtiberian, Gallic, eastern Celtic, Roman, Greek,...
The thread has gone a bit off-topic but I'll chime in with issues similar to those of OP's.
I have Socii Italici installed on most of the paeninsula (except for Etruria, Latium and Campania). My...
I've had issues downloading large mods on moddb before, the download speed would slowly fall to zero and the files would stop downloading completely (on Chrome).
I know how to fix the issue of steam only allowing one SteamLibrary folder for one drive. It won't allow you to move it via client settings. Instead, turn Steam client off and manually edit the...
Oh I never heard of this!
It's different because when a player plays a faction, he doesn't own those settlements, but AI does.
I like this idea because human player can have many rebel...
How about more units that are untrained use horde (circle) formation instead of a rectangle? I've tried modding it this way and it seems to work alright
Battles on hard seem to be a good balance to me, enemy troops do rout after some struggle and come back if not pursued. I imagine on medium you could mop the floor with an AI army of equal strength. ...
Many thanks for taking the time to write this valuable post, I bookmarked it for further reference.
BTW the simplified unrest map colors really helped.
...when you start practicing slinging and do sling PE lessons at your highschool. And you're angry when you see people think David killed Goliath with a rubber band on a Y-stick, slingshot.
Wow guys the map changes look incredible, so much more stuff going on with added mountains, forests. Love the attempt at accuracy
According to Roman historians, the legions were superior and could mop up any enemy with minimal casualties. How come when I play, so many of my elite troops die? Pls fix this
I don't have an EDU to check (or the PC to play :( ) at the moment. Is the phalanx arrow-deflecting element represented by higher armour value than one based on their equipment, or a shield value...
Elite units have an easier time gaining experience than thrash levies due to how Medieval 2 engine works. E.g. cavalry can almost gain a chevron with one solid charge but javelinmen... good luck...
About the armour upgrades... I was writing a post but then came up with something interesting IMO. You don't have to only create armour upgrades, you can create downgrades. The hell do I mean?
You...
If javelin cav could have reduced morale to encourage "tactical retreats" but improved missile effectiveness it could be interesting
Thanks for an answer, I had no problem installing before but dowloaded the new files anyway
I have a .rar file from February 2016 named "SSHIP V0.9 - Patch 29 Jan 2016", it's 2.54GB and there's a data folder inside. In the release thread there are now download links to an .exe installer and...
I've had a couple of screenshots I've used at school but forgot to post them here and deleted them yesterday :thumbsdow
This strikes me as odd, the helmet should be the most crucial piece for keeping a warrior alive.
It's a shame that some of the posts disappeared last winter.
Mine included a recommendation for "A History of the Hellenistic World, 323-30 BC" by Robert Errington to get a basic overall...
The cataphracts need to be way less expensive so that I can afford 8-10 units of them for each one of my armies
The FAQ thread seemts to answer similar questions often but none of them are added to the original post, sadly, so it has turned into a "Quick Q&A" thread already.
A very pleasant read, thank you, I'm personally more used to fielding more cheap, light, levy troops per stack myself, will have to see if the heavy expensive units make up for their upkeep cost in...
I had a paper to finish but opened a browser window for a minute to check for new eb2 threads earlier today. My heart jumped and I had to close the tab as soon as possible or else I wouldn't have...
I just use the config file, set it to read only and it works fine.
You select or deselect it when creating a campaign. Yes you do have to start anew
It's happening!
That's what I've been thinking about for months. I use mercenaries as garrisons because their upkeep cost is nothing and militians to attack with because they're inexpensive to recruit, it should be...
I don't understand. If you want to get through armour, you want to stab it with a point, not chop.
This
or they just need to put less hardcoded limits and make it easier for modders to create whatever they like with the engine. Good examples of this would be M&B Warband & Bannerlord.
I'm quite happy to hear that, my campaigns rarely last long. Usually I play around 200 turns before I consider my goals achieved, get bored or anxious to update the mod with a new awesome patch. I'd...
