Stumbled into this. Found it very interesting. His technique is based on old texts and imaging.
Lol... "soldier", "unit", "salary"...
And you expect a serious answer on that troll post?

Dziekuje bardzo, going off your signature :P
Can confirm EB works again. Don't touch the file with basic notepad.
I changed one lousy line with notepad a week ago, didn't back up the file, forgot which line, EB gives a nonsensical error message in the log, which probably means it was due to opening and saving...
Just check the OP's post history.
It's not even worthy of getting an answer.
Stop rushing and exploiting all aspects of the game and then blaming a mod team for you being (apparently unexpectedly) smarter than AI programmed nearly a decade ago.
Expand slowly and limit...
Don't know if intentional, but the Eleutheroi can recruit units in their Germanic and Hellenic provinces. They cannot recruit anywhere else.
True, but now go tell that to the AI.
Seeing the lack of range of the akontistai to actually fire volleys while in skirmish mode, I went into the EDU and significantly (+ ~30%) increased the range of javelins.
The results were...
Ok so, firstly I did a custom battle 5 (better) skirmishers against 5 akontistai with the standard EDU without any melee:
The game lasted quite a while. That is to say. I felt myself get...
As has been mentioned by me and others on more than a few occasions, the skirmishers in EB II seem to be very reluctant to actually throw their javelins. The only units with javelins that seem to...
Such as?
I'm fiddling with the EDU, I can just as well try to remedy those too.
This, for me, is the only game-breaking non-CTD bug I've encountered.
Been playing around with the EDU a bit in an effort to get skirmishers to actually do something. Increasing range (of all missile units to keep balance) seems to give some results. I actually see...
My only gripe so far are the skirmisher units. They are important in EB warfare, and were what made EB so different, IMO. Guerilla tactics actually worked, you could win with fast, lightly armoured...
Expand slower?
Yeah, it's fair to say the Pritanoi diplomats are suffering from severe identity crises. This is the same diplomat as posted above a few turns later:

First of all, thank you EB team for this amazing piece of work. I am looking forward to enjoying the great atmosphere and descriptions of this fantastic modification (that is many times better than...
Europa Barbarorum is the single best game I ever played.
And I am far from a fanboy, I have like 10 posts here in the last 3 years.
The Arabian desert is the same province as the Sahara. City is in the bottom left corner of the map.
I honestly admit to having bought and installed M2TW gold just for EB II 3 years ago and not playing it a single second. It's ready to install and play EB II though.
The EB team uses the generally accepted consensus for pronouncing ancient Attican dialect of the high period. The one that you are taught if you study classical Greek. Just like you are taught...

Nice one, guys. Still following, after all those years. The most immersive game I ever played. Bought MIITW 3 years ago. I have not played it and will not play it until the first...
Besides, even game where you lose can be fun.
Click on the link in my sig. It was a completely lost Epirus campaign. I had great fun and was destoryed in 250 BC or so.
It's from a few years ago...
I really don't get what is so difficult about EB. AI factions on M difficulty need to be spared early on. Just build up your economy the first 50-60 turns, then engage in wars. And never overdo it....
They were also very much forgotten and buried in EB's time...
With the impatience and immaturity you exhibit, I highly doubt an in-depth an slow paced mod like EB is something for you anyway.
Please at least do an attempt to not look stupid when posting,...
