    How I approached that problem was by checking the number of enemies the faction had at the time. If the faction had 1 enemy or more then rebels would be focused on less or not at all.

    You're welcome to try modding that in yourself, but formations have negligible effect. The AI reforms into a default hard coded marching formation.

    At least some of the battle crashes would be from the germanicu5 battle scripts. Unfortunately battle scripts are inherently unstable.
