I'm sure its something I could in theory get used to, but oh well, I can just screw around with the EDU to make this more comfortable to myself.
Can't say I like this whole loose-tight formation thing, just makes army deployment annoying to deal with. I'm sure I'd understand the logic, but oof its gonna get on my nerves fast.
I'm -really- not a blitzer, at least by the definition as I understand it, you know people just rushing the map as fast as possible. My first moves are to stabilize my faction, usually by going after...
I think I've only gotten a fair bit into a couple campaigns so far, Getai and Carthage being the main ones, though I have done a Pahlava campaign recently which is a bit different than I usually do....
Hmm maybe not have the retirement age set so extreme as 5 years old but maybe like 20-25 so that you get a few years of being able to get new blood but they don't block male family members from...
Right, not particularly far into this game but reasonably so, not the first game I've started since 2.2 dropped but the 2.2a patch meant giving up a Pontos campaign I started.
Qart-Hadasht 250Bc...
Can't say I've ran into this issue myself, usually I have the opposite problem as while I'm playing a more monarchal faction getting swamped with Non-Royal-Family family members that I want to die...
As far as I know giving units two melee weapons doesn't work in the Medieval 2 engine, they will just default to the secondary weapon the moment they get engaged in combat.
Agreed, I always liked to have them, if for anything as a quick place to setup for organizing armies outside of settlements. Though I've also used them in sort of a house rule style thing of...
I think it takes a bit to kick into gear, but once the campaign gets on in a few decades then the AI starts to really pick up I find. Seleukia speaking in my current EB 2.1B Getai campaign they were...
I could be wrong but I believe its tied into the Hellenistic Reforms (Listed here) specifically the second one that happens in 222 BC, as that's around the time I noticed being able to upgrade my...
Now I swear that I had posted a summary of faction expansion in my Getai 2.1B campaign from 250-240 in this thread, must of gotten destroyed in that forum crash. Oh well, I'll post the 250-240...
Well hopefully the EB team is better than to stoop to such low tactics to get a vote.
It should be noted that the lack of command stars might be a hold over from EB1, where if I remember right, player Generals tended to get traits relating to morale and such instead of outright...
Not savegame compatible with my 150ish turns pontos game it seems, so will probably hold off till I start a new campaign.
For some reason the EBII.CFG keeps getting overwritten on game exit?
Edit: Launcher Fix here, helped.
Of course this screws everything up with graphics settings and changes to them ingame...
One thing that I always found interesting in regards to EB1 was the AI faction progression threads, seeing interesting paths of expansion for the various factions was almost as interesting as playing...
Forward! For Pontos!

So far the only persistent crashes I've had is a rare one in regards to right clicking on a building or unit card on the campaign map and it CTDs, not really that much of an issue though really as it...
I dunno if this is uniform for all factions but for Pontos I'm noticing that settlements are a lot less willing to put up with Taxes than EB1, which I rather like, managing the economy at the start...
I've noticed this too, Javilin carrying infantry don't seem to have to much issue getting off javelins but Javelin skirmishers just go: "Eh, throwing javelins is dumb"
I will make a note though...
Only if you lost your last settlement, I would assume.
Except for being slightly unnerved at first by the lack of campaign map voices and a unit or two in my Pontic campaign saying "Yes Sultan!" in battle, the sounds seem okay for me thus far.
From the EB2 Bloopers thread.
I actually think Vanilla isnt all that bad, in some respects i find it better the RTR.... also the 1.3-1.5 patches screwed up diplomacy so i play vannilla on 1.2 (better i think) BI was bad i think...
the only thing about that set up is that you cant have 4 units of Praetorian Calvary (after marius) and the rest (pre marius besides archers) together
