    I mean, axe units are preety much OP overall so yeah they would be better.
    Name me one unit that would be better as a sword unit than a axe unit. You get -6 Max possible dmg for +6 or 7 AP damage...

    Not really, they are faster, will do better at chasing missle units, being more defensive means they will hold out longer. They have their uses, you just need to know where and when to allocate them....

    Dont Logades have 3 extra armor, I dont know how it's calculated when in direct PHLX vs PHLX formation. Maybe that made a difference.

    Well those are all "spartan" units , did you try it with other merc hoplites.
    Also, I'm with you that theres some BS going on, theres no way they have extra HP, never seen that benefit anywhere.
