I wish they would make Medieval 3.

If other nations are being stubborn about their land holdings, you could (aside from the ways you mentioned) enter your diplomat into negotiations with them and click on the "give territories"...
Well, a lot of it is personal preference on what you build first and so on.
As far as when and where to put traders, if you look at your finances tab (usually on the lower right), traders make up a...
Hmm, that was indeed a lot :)
Last things first... as far as what to build first, I make sure a settlement has at least the smallest church, so I can train a priest for it.
Then, at least the...
Oddly, I never had a Mongol problem as the Byzantines... But plenty of trouble with them as Jerusalem.
Just did what Dekhatres above said, made an alliance and watched as they circled around me and...
Its a bit misleading, but the ancillary is basically the Mayor or titled Governor of the actual city of Jerusalem.
The faction leader is obviously in charge of the whole faction.
The same as the...
You can change their name.
It takes some editing work, and backup up your files before you mess with it just in case.
Search this site for how to edit different files like this.
The family member/family tree translation isnt quite perfect.
Generals will sometimes be refered to as family members, even if they are clearly not.
Then there are some factions that are set up...
Mostly, I find if you leave the Mongols alone theyll punch themselves out. Of course then youve got the Timurids, but not as long term tough.
I dont go east of Turkey until the Mongols start...
You can change the difficulty, but it is balanced so assimilation takes some time in order to be more realistic.
I assume you are refering to religious assimilation. Fastest way to speed it is build...
Ive never had the Mongols bother me when I play ERE.
By the time Im ready to head far to the east, theyre usually dwindling over in Iraq somewhere.
I like to own western Turkey, all of Greek...
The main part of your strategy there, which is a good one, is taking York and tempting England to take it back (early) to spawn Wallace.
You're right... long as you do that early, its pretty easy to...
Usually, but not just HRE...
Any catholic nation can get an anti-Pope if excommunicated.
I find this sometimes happens in clumps... 3-4 priests will turn heretic in 6-8 turns.
Excommunication can cause it, so can poor religious traits on your King, even low religious % in an area can...
Awww...
I was all ready to help, and you solved it yourself?
You're no fun hehe
Unless the crusade is on you, this sounds like a bug.
Ive never had this happen to me in many thousands of hours of gameplay.
Perhaps you have an additional mod installed, beyond just SS 6.4?
If...
Love this mod :)
Small bug I found though (not game-breaking or anything, just odd)…
My Scottish princess (natural born, not drafted) could not negotiate a marriage with the English prince when I...
It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it :)
Yes, I installed Kingdoms as well. It is the original M2TW edition (bought the game when it was only a few days old :)
Im looking into this safe disc solution you mentioned... ill let you know if...
Having the exact same problem.... logo for a second then CTD with no error messege.
I reinstalled the whole game... patched to 1.5... installed SS6.3... installed SS6.4... installed meloo's fix......
I would assume that its a bug.Ive never seen it happen by more then 1 vote though... maybe cause the "winner" was ranked higher, he got an extra secret vote, then cpu gave him the tie??
Not really a bug...
When you build up points with any given guild, the game wont neccesarily offer you the guild you want in that specific settlement.
Just refuse it in Exeter and keep turning out...
To clarify...
You don't have to TAKE the target city in 10 turns, you just have to join within 10 turns.
Also, its usually not a big penalty if you don't join at all... you might lose 1 or 2...
Mmm, I don't know. I usually am pretty successful keeping my vassals loyal.
It can be a pain, cause you constantly have to keep an eye on them. And you have to watch who else they are friendly with...
All that being said...
A prayer to the gods is in order.
Mars, Venus?
You've got all the Roman gods on your side.
A little sacrifice never hurt.
Hmm...
looks recent, but about a '40s-50s time.....

Its an airplane.
Ohh... actual battlefield advice?
Youre Genoa, yes?
Use those shields.
Ive found, even city-level crossbowmen can do pretty well.
Use those crossbowmen to the hilt and make the enemy come to...
You know what is fun?
Be England, and make Scotland your vassal....
Then conquer all of Africa and gift it to the Scots.....
Just keep the tribute coming in man... I don't have time to...
Cant get enough of those Irish camels....
Nah, but, stake out west Africa for those gold/silver mines (in addition to cornering your own Irish Silver).
6.4 is like 0.4 better then 6.0!
Joking aside, its a much more complete (and less buggy) as 6.4
Playing it for many years... never gets old.
SS 6.4 Ive played for hundreds of years... game...
To be fair...
Earlier middle ages WAS mostly spear/shield spam. :)
You know... if you want accuracy.
1. The time limit to join a crusade is 10 turns after it is called. The best time to join, if you intend to take the designated city yourself, is immediately. Also, its kind of dishonest, but if you...
I like attacking Egypt (especially when they've grown strong) from west Africa.
That way, you don't have to leave much of a garrison behind as you move from 1 territory to the next.
Just keep...
Is it all your generals or just 1 or 2 (that are your main combat leaders)?
If its just 1 or 2, check their ancillaries and traits. They may have some traits that lower command ability.
Also, loss...
Be afraid man!
If you sack Rome, the Pope will call down a curse upon you and your whole family will be stricken with leprosy!
