  2. Re: New Historical total war era - Total War: Three Kingdoms!

Ditto Legate's point re capture points - they have been attempted before (albeit very clumsily) and met with outcry. I agree with the critics on this - capture points always come across as gimmicky...
  3. Re: New Historical total war era - Total War: Three Kingdoms!

The thing that frustrates me most about battle gameplay - and its state of near permanent stagnation for over a decade - is that you get the same overall experience regardless of whatever era you're...
  4. Re: New Historical total war era - Total War: Three Kingdoms!

    My thoughts in a nutshell:

Bummed about battle gameplay barely having changed for the last 15 years.

Hyped about some big strides on the campaign map (which also looks bloody great).

    Yep, same here.

I also hated Rome II vanilla, but Attila is defo worth a buy. Overly fast and arcadey battles are compensated for by big campaign side improvements. It is a great Total War.

Re: Quick Survey of Warhammer Battles

I'm just giving 14 minutes as the median point between 10 and 18. The question is asking people what their preferred average is, so when answering, you'd expect people to be factoring in some of the...

Yeah, a long maneuvering phase before engagement made sense in Empire and Napoleon - it was mostly ranged combat, so managing kill-zones was key. But in Warhammer there's not as much need. Part of...
