    Infantry mass vs cavalry in my experience has nothing to do with It. On the opposite, cavarly mass counts a lot, with heavy knights at about 4 or 5 points of mass, they tend to ride over infantry...

    Forts are quite useless and the ai doesn't make a good use of them anyway ( they function almost like a trap, you can then siege the fort and eliminate an army without much trouble, or trap yourself...
