I am having lots of issues using TWC right now, so this is in a second comment because its too difficult to edit my main post.
The idea behind the Ethiopian Sarawits appearance was to evoke...
What YGW said is accurate, so I will just add to the most contentious points, the Ethiopain Sarawit and the horse barding:
Ethiopian Sarawit is meant as a broad basic infantry unit. The name comes...
Zagwe roster updated with pictures. Unit descriptions and polish will come later.
Unfortunately, making new custom skins is very difficult, and the custom aksumite skins from Attila look like Toy story characters, so I had to compromise and use the eastern skins. Its not perfect...

Honestly, the Aksum skins look like wooden figures from Toy Story. They are far more stylized than the R2 skins which are much more real to life, hence me adapting those than using the aksum skins....
Its funny, in general the main response to the first ethiopian units has been like they just walked out of the shower:P. The entire ethiopian roster could be a advertisement for male hygiene.

Theres actually still work (very impressive, I might add) on the mod but its shifted pretty much entirely off TWC which is why this thread is so dead.
Its in for the slow burn, alls I can say....
Maybe then I make a generic "East African" set of skins that can work for both Ethiopian ethnicities and Nubians, with a few african skins for other ethnic groups where appropriate. That should work...
So, we have 3 east african factions: Makuria, Zagwe and Dahlak?
It seems I could keep the attila skins for the Afar units but I'll try to select a few appropriate R2 skins, darken them, and try...
Open question here, what would be acceptable skins to use for the ethiopian units, do the ethiopian Attila skins work (because frankly, they look like they're carved out of wood not real people), or...
