  1. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

Is it ironic that me calling for art being criticised regardless of politics is something radically political? Yes it is.
Is it ironic that you can't debate the actual argument on its merit, and...
  2. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

I don't think you do either.

Though obviously if you want another example this one works just as fine:...
  4. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

Oh no. The thought of judging things on their own merit instead of political ideology. What a far right thing.

So from your point of view maybe yeah, you're right.

    It's like Stephen Fry. He's...
  5. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

I'm saying that your statement has as much validity as an arsonist complaining about all the fires he sets in the city.

If you accuse people of being right-wing, you choose that topic,...
  6. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

You successfully demonstrated the consequences of a stone thrown in a glass house.

Several people who did not find it deserving of the controversy and review bombing, such as me (enjoyed it), Oda...

Yeah, totally. Let's go back a page and find out who set that ball rolling.
Whups? Didn't take you for a fan.
  8. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

I know how Rotten Tomatoes works. It is a binary choice, which makes their statistics an easy classification statistics. Does that allow for some discrepancies and inaccuracies? Sure. Does this allow...
  9. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

Yes, I don't think it's smug at all, and neither should you, unless you unironically and unequivocally seem to believe TLJ is better than Inception, various Tarantino movies such as Django, the...
  10. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

I never claimed that audience ratings are indicative of the movie quality. I said it three times already in this thread and I'll say it again: The audience liking stupid things I'd get.

    But I used...
  11. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

Good sir, ever heard of such a thing as statistics?

I am not talking about that one specific person in the audience liking it and that one specific critic not liking it. You can look up the...
  12. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

Well first of all, "the audience" is pretty much everyone. So some of them will not share your ideology, some of them won't share my taste. No s..t Sherlock? :D Like I said in my OP: Audience having...
  13. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

    hm? Explain please.
  14. Re: Seriously... What's wrong with film critics?!

Would it? I honestly don't know what their standards are. They can get mad for all kinds of reasons. I don't even get why they're mad at this movie in the first place. Well yeah, they say it's...

Both would lose, AIDS would win.

Who would win? Thema Devia Commissar Caligula_ with AIDS, or Screenshot Commissar Caligula_ with AIDS?

Well I'm glad this worked out for you.

Fun fact: Iron-ically (see what I did there? Only smart people get this and give me a rep), even though red water's a red flag, it's not the rust itself...

I don't think the movies can be compared. Joaquin had a very different role to play in a very different kind of movie, compared to Heath.
  19. Re: Derc Plays Through World History (Current: Attila - Grand Campaign)

When I saw what "the Servants of the Kan" did to my poor Greuthungian friends, all I could think was: "Man, that's Rof!" *badumtz*

Didn't get the reference? That's ok.

    Re: Board of Citizens Proposal

The solution to all of your problems is to make me citizen. I can be very patronising.

Commissar Caligula, Diamat, etc... Maybe one of you? I promise to be a pain in the dough. :)

    Edit: Oh...

  22. Re: [Bath Products] Aroma Sense 9000 Shower Head, with Vitamin C and chlorine elimination

I know I'm late to the party, but red water usually means rust in my experience. My advice if anyone reading it should run into this problem: Instead of using filters, try to figure out where that...

Actually, She got ~40% in the US in 2016 vs ~30% for Hillary & Trump each. Also in other countries She consistently beats all other parties and candidates. The only reason why She doesn't get to lead...

That's incorrect. A 3rd person limited narration is defined by the limitation that the reader/viewer can only obtain information/experience whatever the protagonist experiences when he does it....

I think that's a perfect example for the fact that this movie isn't for everyone. What Kyriakos criticises I see as some of its core strengths:

The other characters couldn't be more fleshed out...
  38. Re: [Recreational Products] Royal Corinthian Armor, Helmet, and Kopis

    Two things impressed me:
    1) The price tag. $400 for the breastplate?!
    2) That it's worth it. Didn't expect that they'd make one that's a custom made perfect fit to your body.
