    When in battle press Esc and go into UI Options make sure its set to Minimal HUD and then use the F5, F6 and F7 keys to switch between the modes (show, hide, slide) during battle.

    How does this happen? They lose the rams to arrow/javelin fire or the boiling oil from gate houses? If the latter is the case you could probably edit the descr_projectile.txt to weaken the 'oil'....

    The terrain in the distance doesnt use actual textures it just represents each ground texture with a single color. The RGB values for those colors you can define by opening up your mods...
