holy moly this is still alive! great work Yelu!
have you tried contacting someone at CA, at least to get confirmation if it's a hardcoded engine limitation or if you can fix it with editing of some file(s)?
dear god... it's... it's alive! i'm all warm inside with anticipation. good luck finishing the thing, guys!
Do you feel that increased historical accuracy detracts from or increases the excitement/enjoyment of such games?
Strongly Increases (5).
As a result of playing Europa Barbarorum have you...
compared to the quotes in this trailer, HBORome Octavian is the illegitimate product of the unholy union between Conan, Batman, Hercules and Hannibal
are you effing kidding me? did CA just make Octavian a whiny emo teenage kid?! does CA have no respect? do they have any shame? wow. CA is dead to me. bring on EB
i welcome any and all improvements upon the best STW2 mod :) Oda-speed, modders!
is... is this real? is CA trolling us? i'm at a point where i think the game would actually improve with someone like kisspanza as the team leader. damn...
you finally show your real face as a hypocrite and marketing plant. first the insta-transports are A-OK awesomesauce 'cause "rtw2 is just a game", now pathfinding breaking houses are a-ok 'cause they...
and where was i disputing that/claiming otherwise? your post displays a severe lack of reading comprehension. i'm not the one who brought dick-measuring into the discussion
R2 never sold even 1 million, so i'm not sure what you're talking about (the whole series?)
yeah, nobody knows about that website... that's why plenty of rpg developers post and lurk there....
that's not necessarily "smart business". the hardcore customers are what will keep you afloat in the long run, the casuals are volatile and won't necessarily mean more sales next time (especially if...
*an endless stream of citizen kane clapping gifs*
will you ever stop spreading ignorance and misinformation to defend this game?
why would it turn into a slideshow? the texture sizes of the winter (or autumn of what have you) terrain are the same...
yup... i'm interested to know in which DLC a more complex, engaging political system (among other things) will suddenly be possible. or which DLC will introduce a competent AI
a lot of...
ugh, samurais (i.e. what you call the followers of bushido) were rarely (if ever) as "valiant" and "noble" and "honourable" as fiction would have you believe. they had a sense of honour, yes, but in...
yes, people used their side-arms when their primary broke. since weapons cannot break in any of CA's engines, having them switch to sidearms when close-up is a fair compromise, imho. but yeah,...
politicians do politicking for a living, it's their job. assassins do assassinations for a living, it's their job. thieves steal for a living, it's their job. and so on and so on, ad nauseam. do you...
agreed with everything said. also, take a look at one of the ideas from TROM3 to "borrow" :): a tech chain that significantly improves (and extends the roster of) ashigaru, this way you can have crap...
thanks for the enlightening, insightful, verbose and very thourough counter-argument once again, great master cluelessmm. once again you display no understanding of the matter at hand
lies/BS. it's not "the best thing for the AI" for many reasons that were mentioned multiple times (the AI is actually more stupid because of it, leaving cities undefended and going on cruises around...
sorry for the off-topic but:
no. it's programming that's become easier (to learn and get jobs). nowadays a "good programmer" wouldn't be able to shine the shoes of a "good programmer" in the 90ies....
short answer: no
long answer: nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
eh.. TES isn't really the best example. 3 was veeeery different from 1&(especially)2 so preferring Daggerfall to any other TES is very legitimate. Morrowind was (and still is) a very unique entry in...
he won't. he'll just ignore the complaints just like the rest of CA. it's become their motto, apparently
have you even seen a console controller in the past 10 years? analog sticks for movement/camera, 4 buttons on the right side, 4 on the left (the direction buttons), 4 shoulder buttons, start, select....
remember remember the 6th of november...
your analysis is based on pre-release screenshots, his on actual game files. only Rome and Carthage have unique tiles. and your analysis didn't cover Alexandria and Babylon like you originally said,...
it's not that you're "thorough", it's your list that sucks. as has been already mentioned, it's full of redundant and stupid crap. you made it as if there was a contest to list everything that was...
no custom battlemap = no unique city. only the 2 previously mentioned have unique tiles. feel free to ask dvk901 for a more detailed analysis
this list is so full of idiotic, redundant and irrelevant crap... why didn't you include also stuff like "the main menu looks different", "the options in the graphics menu are different", "characters...
i never said the other things weren't needed, but forgive me for simplifying the argument "limitations were dynamic and based on needs, not arbitrary magic numbers" (i.e. a better implementation...
to me, they don't mean anything. to some devs, they mean a lot (bonuses tied to mc scores, or as with tim heaton design choices (mis)guided by mc analysis or whatever), as they obviously do to...
doesn't the Otomo have some unique techs and/or buildings? if yes, then perhaps (if it isn't hard coded, of course) some of that could be reverse engineered to implement unique tech trees?
maybe only low-level ashigaru and bandits or just the peasant-/levy-level korean units? and maaybe some basic monks from the higher level buildings in regions with the holy site speciality?
it...
because it doesn't make sense in the context of the game (i.e. the historical age of the antiquity). back then, you were limited by manpower (something pretty decently abstracted in rtw1 with...
it's not nonsensical, it's just lazy. just look at most of the others design decisions in the game, they scream laziness. "we can't make the AI work, so let's limit the player and call it a feature"....
if not even the blood pack and free nomads dlc managed to turn the tide, i sincerely doubt a mere patch can (unless it brings a boatload of changes, fixes the AI and adds the family tree)
i hope this illustrates well enough the idiocy of the original statement
btw, their combat prowess is the least of the problems of this "feature"
