  1. Re: Shogun can not see mods when I use offline mode (steam)

    Navigate using windows explorer:

    1) %appdata%
    2) The Creative Assembly
    3) Shogun 2
    4) scripts
    5) user.script.txt

Edit the user.script, add whatever packs you want loaded when you start the...

Re: which CPU to take for total war

There's a cyberpower site for the US and Canada here, if you're looking for that instead of cyberpower UK? From what I read about paypal support, they did according to this, but I've never really...

Re: which CPU to take for total war

I still have old Samsung 840 Pro's and they don't seem to be that much slower (3 seconds absolute maximum slower) than NVME or my Optane drive. Optane is of course blazing fast (to be faster by a...

Re: which CPU to take for total war

All SSD's are the same, personally I find the fastest SSD of them all (Optane SSD like the 905P but older, mine is the 900p), to be only slightly faster (by a second or two) than my Crucial and...

Re: which CPU to take for total war

    1) 9900KS should be fine for this purpose then

    2) This card will definitely struggle at 4k, any card does. So what I'd do is get a 2080ti (or other random card, even used off ebay or some place),...

Re: which CPU to take for total war

Haha, you're going all out. It looks pretty good but here's a couple of tips

    1) Keep in mind you're playing at 4k with that monitor, the CPU isn't going to be the issue. The GPU will matter most....
  8. Re: Defecting Chinese spy offers information trove to Australian government

Well I read your link, it says he is a former diplomat and doesn't mention anything about him being a spy.

I'm not convinced. India already overtook China already as the fastest growing...
  9. Re: Was China really that far ahead of everyone else in the past?

The steppe people brought metallurgy to China, and by extension were responsible to a part for the development of cast iron as they kick started the metallurgy discovery process.

Looks invalid to me unfortunately. Also do you know of the TWC discord? We try to help modders in there too.
  11. Defecting Chinese spy offers information trove to Australian government

Apparently this is the first ever Chinese spy to defect to another country.

Some interesting nuggets of information he's revealed

No performance impact really, the textures and models are rendered already, all that's happening is that they're moving a little bit more, since only a file needs to be loaded into the animation...

Re: Where to find User Scrips in windows 10?

    1) Type %appdata% into windows explorer
    2) Open The Creative Assembly folder and then game within there you wish to change.
    3) Open the scripts folder, then open the user.script file.

True, some cards might not handle the increased amount of particles (smoke, dust) from the mod. A similar issue arose back in M2TW when some mods made arrows stick in the ground longer or...

  22. Re: Which computer do you think can play this smoothly at max. settings?

While I normally completely agree he is asking about total war specifically. TW likes to do a lot of calculations on the CPU and clock speed is king for that (unless a game is good at multithreaded...

    Re: Reset Campaign AI?

The AI I made for DaC was slightly "better" than EBII's in terms of not being passive; the one for EBII focused more on diplomacy.

I will probably adjust the AI at some point, it could use some...
  25. Re: Which computer do you think can play this smoothly at max. settings?

TW code is poorly optimized for thousands and thousands of units fighting it out at once. The engine has an inability to cope with such large numbers of physics, animations, and mechanics (especially...
  26. Re: Which computer do you think can play this smoothly at max. settings?

In large part it is probably because TW has always had terrible multithreaded and multicore programming.

Intel is favoured due to it's higher clock speed per core. His AMD CPU likely held him...
  27. Re: Which computer do you think can play this smoothly at max. settings?

Even the lowest tier of graphics cards (e.g. a 960, 1060 or 2060), would be able to handle it. This is due to the fact that technology progresses so rapidly that a 2060 is the equivalent of the older...

  32. Sticky: Re: Total War Saga: TROY announced! (trailer, screens & campaign map video)

  33. Sticky: Re: DarthMod Empire v8.0.1 Platinum Feedback (READ FIRST POST)
