  1. Re: Does Taksashila army suck or do I?

Oh absolutely, it wasn't the gold alone, Philip was a canny political operator and skilled general. However, without the gold, he'd have struggled to achieve all that he did and realise his plans.
  2. Re: Does Taksashila army suck or do I?

Until Philip II secured gold mines that allowed him to heavily invest in his military, turning his levied rabble into professional infantry. If Makedonia had remained a small and weak state with poor...
  3. Re: Baktrian colonists (how to get them)

You only need colonists to start a new Poleis building - which looks like you did that in Oskobara - otherwise every level of Hellenistic Colony needs them. Unfortunately, it looks like you scattered...
  4. Re: Baktrian colonists (how to get them)

What did you do with your colonists?

You need the final tier of Hellenistic Colony to get it the rest of the way, unless you have a governor with high Influence.

    Has the ThorakitaiReform...
  5. Re: Baktrian colonists (how to get them)

No, there's no time limit on when they need to become independent. Only that if you haven't completed any of the missions the Seleukids give you while you are not independent, you don't get the bonus...
  6. Re: Baktrian colonists (how to get them)

The quickest way to get colonists is to accept the missions from the Seleukids before you become independent. Did you complete any of them?

Otherwise, you need to either own a Hellenic Metropoleis...
  7. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

I'm not sure raiding works on Rebel provinces, does it?

It's partially compatible, we've been using it to make the Historical Battles. If that's what you're doing, some changes are easier to...
  8. Re: Does Taksashila army suck or do I?

There is no arbitrary "equality" between the rosters of the various factions. The advantage Taksashila would have over Baktria, say, is that they'd have huge armies comprising mostly of levies. The...

  10. Re: Does Taksashila army suck or do I?

Are you using the Indo-Greek units? If you're just using the native units, you've essentially got levies with a small leavening of better troops (Macemen and Swordsmen). Cavalry definitely shouldn't...

There are other text files for the menu - check the strat.txt and shared.txt.
  13. Re: Looking for a Garrison Script template

You need to indent and make two loops per spawn, one with if I_EventCounter full_plate < 1 and the other if I_EventCounter full_plate > 0. What does your current script look like?

  14. Sticky: Re: [Official] Reform requirements - as at 2.3

The script has an either/or element to it. Very big armies count for two points, where medium-sized ones are only one. You only need to fight three 11+ unit stacks to satisfy the conditions of that...

Those are nomadic regions; it's not just about proximity, but the underlying cultures. By contrast, taking over the mantle of the grafted-on Makedonian elite in the former Persian empire isn't so...

    Re: Local rulers \ Governors

That's intentional, every faction has a regional "sphere of influence" where they can build their factional governments. For Baktria it is this:

    Re: Local rulers \ Governors

With Baktria, you can't build anything higher than Military Conquest outside the immediate region until after you are independent.
  20. Re: New region suddenly received during Lougiones campaign

Not scripted, not a bug. That was a revolt, which happened to be in your favour, from the Bosporans.

  22. Re: Need some advice for multiple winter months for 12 turns per year script

I suspect one winter season is hardcoded, which is why you will only get one no matter how many turns per year you have.
  23. Re: Is there any way to improve CAMPAIGN map performance, speed, and FPS?

The game only uses one core, regardless of how many you have, because it is old. You might get some mileage out of moving the processes onto an unused core.

Re: Tactical and realistic stat approach

You're focusing on one value, ignoring all the other factors. The Germanic units with an attack value of 12 are using framea - heavier javelins - which is why the projectile is a longche, not a...

Re: Tactical and realistic stat approach

It isn't documented; you can see it in the EDU by comparing and contrasting units. We use existing units as a check and balance for statting up new ones.

Re: Tactical and realistic stat approach

Yes. Same goes with defence values; armour and shield value are based on an average of the equipment present, defensive skill on the status of the unit.

Re: Tactical and realistic stat approach

The EDU isn't the only thing that matters as far as missiles go, the descr_projectiles is at least as, if not more important.

Unit stats are based on the equipment present and the status of the...

It's a partial fix, for those using javelins and overhand spears (we have our own custom animation for those which accommodates longer shields). No fix for underarm spears or swords/axes/maces.

Yep, waiting 10-15 seconds after the summary screen appears before clicking to move on eliminates a lot of those memory-related crashes. It's a trick from RTW that still applies here - at the end of...

  35. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

No, you can only ever recruit one roster; the Camillian units all disappear when the Polybian ones appear. With the eventual Marian reforms, nothing changes for non-Roman factions in Italy - they...
