    Re: Unexplained Devsastation?

I thought it would be one hidden in a forest.

Note the radius from Rebels sitting in place grows over time, and can spread into neighbouring provinces if left untended for long enough.

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

Gig has the solution to avoiding retraining - send reinforcements to merge into depleted units. Give a young FM command of the reinforcements and perhaps let him smash any Rebels he encounters along...

There absolutely is work being done on this, check our Twitter feed and commentary here. Also see the current changelog.

All the scripted war triggers now change the AI stance as well, which should make any of those less phoney.

    Re: Where to recruit Hypaspistai

You need to complete the Kingship reform before you can build a Basilike Patris, which allows you to recruit elites.

    Re: 2.35A Changelog

Epeiros has had a complete rewrite of it's governments and reform. New ethnicities, too.
  7. Sticky: Re: Faction difficulty ratings (your help is needed)

It does go away, it fades at the rate of 5% a turn.
  8. Sticky: Re: v2.35 has been released - please do NOT report any bugs if you are playing with previous versions

Normal functioning of the faction re-emergence script. Those bonuses should disappear again the next turn.

It's also been completely rewritten in the patch.
  9. Re: Question on Pontos Governments/Colonies

Not the Pontic reform, the ThureosReform on turn 60-ish. But yes, after your Imperial Reform, the above will apply.

The Galatianised units come from the Foreign Colony in Anatolia, primarily.
  10. Re: Question on Pontos Governments/Colonies

The Galatianised Spearmen are a post-reform unit - the Uazali are basically just filling the slot until the reform.

    Re: 2.35A Changelog

There's still a pretty big change to Epeiros and a settlement move I've yet to Commit to the build, and there's a few other bits and pieces still in motion. So not frozen yet, more a current set of...

    2.35A Changelog

Since it was requested, this is a raw copy of the changelog since 2.35 released. Some of the entries won't make much sense to someone who can't see the files that were edited, but it should still...

    Re: Saka 'Challenge'

It has been adjusted in 2.35A - now it only applies if you choose to become a horde on uniting the tribes.
  14. Re: Radically improved game experience(IdillaMZ Submod)

That's exactly the opposite of what the team intends with CAI behaviour. There's no point in the Marian reforms, late Celtic reforms or many other events if the game is over in 100 turns.

    Re: Stay Safe Everyone

If you are playing more, please remember to feed back your experiences and impressions. We can always make use of those as we gear up to playtesting the patch.

I'd like to get that out to people...
  16. Re: Question on Pontos Governments/Colonies

Pontos is in a slightly strange position with colonisation and the polis. You can't upgrade them, but you can use them. You still need either one Metropoleis, or three Poleis' to get colonists. That...

    Re: Epirote Phalangites

As Sar1n alludes to, there's a historical reason for that, it isn't coincidental or weird.
  18. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

Correct, Hierosolyma (Jerusalem) was nowhere near as important at this time as Ptolemais-Akko (Acre).

It's not an either/or, the TR script disrupted public order through rebellions. An...

    Re: Capping Settlement Growth

Actually, this is only an issue for the human player, as you note the AI is rarely able to get the right combination of construction and governorship necessary for the population growth that takes a...
  20. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

No new factions in the patch, that's for the next full release. Revolts have been completely reworked in the patch, instead of the hardcoded "bandit" spawns, there's now a script which spawns small,...

    Re: Epirote Phalangites

You need a Hellenistic Colony (level 2 and above) to get regular Phalangitai, or hold Pella, Alexandreia or Antiocheia.

    Their limited availability is intentional.

Re: [Basic Guide, EB 2.3] Baktria

No, you do not need a helcol_three before you can build a helcol_ref. The first is limited in where it can be built at all, the helcol_ref is an alternative in most places.

    There's no way to...

    Re: Gauls - Manpower Issues

If the migration offers a terrible pool, it's because you're trying to build it somewhere you shouldn't be.
  27. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

It's not that close, that was just a bit of an update. We haven't playtested the current build in a while, that comes before any release.

Sticky: Re: Fans suggestion thread for future releases

The lack of pools is supposed to be a giveaway, but given it's a higher-tier government, they can also be restricted by upgrade paths.

I'll have a look. EDIT: In fact they are restricted in the...

  30. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

The levels are at the bottom of the descr_settlement_mechanics.xml, if I'm remembering correctly. It's:
    800 for Town
    2000 for Large Town
    6000 for City
    12000 for Large City
    24000 for Huge City

  31. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

Just a bit of an update on the status of the patch. It's currently sitting at around 1GB, meaning it'll have to be a torrent job. There's been a delay in finalising it, because it is resident on my...
  32. Re: Future update Carthage Questions and Suggestions

We're using them as a placeholder for the Ligurian Slingers at the moment, that's why they're all over Sicily and the islands. There isn't another unit remotely close that we could use instead of...
  33. Re: Captain (Non-Named General) Scripting Morale and Movement Points

You can set Captain movement points in the descr_character (they're called "general" in there). You can also set its cost, which is more likely to impact the AI's use of them than their movement...
  34. Re: Most efficient use of colonists for Baktria

You can only build a helcol_ref, after the ThorakitaiReform, in Baktra.

What turn is it in your game? You may have to wait if it's before 222.

Re: [Basic Guide, EB 2.3] Baktria

  36. Re: How to make the AI fight battles in the open instead of hiding in cities

Don't use full stacks, nor multiple armies when you advance. Give them time to react, doing some devastating before closing on cities.

Also note the Rebels have a different (stunted) AI to the...
  37. Re: Most efficient use of colonists for Baktria

The only way to get it to the required level of rel_h for a Metropolis is with the largest Hellenistic Colony, each step of which require colony points.
  38. Re: Future update Carthage Questions and Suggestions

    Ooops, I spoilered those.

I'll have to have a look at them again and compare.

  39. Re: Future update Carthage Questions and Suggestions
