Re: Terrorist attack in S Turkey - 30 dead

I fear that this attack is the last straw for the pro-BDP Kurdish people in SE Turkey, and that there will be a period of civil unrest. In the worst case, this might be a repeat of the late 70's...

New week folks, the war rapes on with Gallipoli on the Eastern front and the newly opened Italian front.
  9. Re: The Great War Youtube series discussion thread [Week 48 - The Austro-Hungarian Empire Strikes Back]

Nice pun there, Florian! In a new installment of The Great War, A-H captures Lemberg/Lviv/Lvov back from the Russians and effectively gets to the amount of land which it had started WW1. On the other...
  10. Re: The Great War Youtube series discussion thread [Week 47 - Cavalry, Spies and Cossacks]

Based on the situation, Russia had a period of civil unrest after the Russo-Japanese War and was facing major food shortages during the war. GB and France had neither of them.
  11. Re: The Great War Youtube series discussion thread

Isn't that what they eventually achieved when Lenin commenced the October Revolution?
  12. Re: The Great War Youtube series discussion thread

This week, the Cossacks' charge saves the day while the Russians make their way to Lemburg/Lvov to defend it 'till the last man.

The wednesday before the new episode? This is something unheard of! Anyway, this week Reginald Warneford destroys a zeppelin (LZ 37) and becomes a national hero only to die 10 days later.

  26. Re: "It is not genocide!!" - Turkey is furious again about international comments of Armenian 'Genocide'

You are not answering my question: which points of Cyclops' post are held by the propagandists?
  27. Re: "It is not genocide!!" - Turkey is furious again about international comments of Armenian 'Genocide'

Which points? This is in my opinion the most thought-out take on the relation between the Turkish republic and the Armenian Genocide.
  28. Re: The Great War Youtube series discussion thread

On the late side this time. This week, the Gallipoli landings and Italy joins the Entente!

  31. Re: "It is not genocide!!" - Turkey is furious again about international comments of Armenian 'Genocide'

Whoa, I've never seen such a ad hominem. 200000 Arnenians, is that including those who live under a Turkish name/surname because their grandparents were forced to give their identity?

Why did it take Assad so long to recognize?
  33. Re: "It is not genocide!!" - Turkey is furious again about international comments of Armenian 'Genocide'

  39. Re: "It is not genocide!!" - Turkey is furious again about international comments of Armenian 'Genocide'
