  1. Re: Best strategies for maintaining public order and explaining what exactly causes unrest

It's good to station a lot of cheap troops inside. At least 5-6 for interior cities, while min 8 for border cities. As Pontos, while it was hard taking off, I found out that building Cappadocian...
  2. Re: Questions! Questions that need answering!

I for one always employ trusted good quality mercenary cavalry, always garrison all my border regions, and I always ever ditch slingers for Euzonoi/Peltenai who are great skirmishers. Skirmishers...
  3. Historically Accurate, Well-Balanced Romani Army Based Upon Polybius and Vegetius

    So I've made two schemes:

    ROMANI POLYBIAN ARMY

    https://i.ibb.co/WF14Bjc/Roman-Polybian-Army.jpg

And the part that wasn't included in the end said "... armies".

    ROMANI POST-MARIAN ARMY
  4. Re: Question for EBII Historians: Origins of Certain Units/Cultures?

It might mean only the geographical location, not necessarily tribal or ethnic affiliation. Probably they were a mix between Italian and Celtic peoples, in fact, but their language is related to...
  5. Re: Small Romani Mistake that Needs to be Corrected in Next Patch

... In fact it's only the substantive noun that doesn't have a neuter declesion. But in fact, as an adjective, this class declines to all genders.
  6. Re: Small Romani Mistake that Needs to be Corrected in Next Patch

... Yeah, indeed, you're right. My bad. In fact this class of adjectives also declines for neuter, while I thought it didn't.
  7. Re: Explain an EBII game mechanic or a historical fact in the worst way possible

    LOL.
  8. Re: Explain an EBII game mechanic or a historical fact in the worst way possible

If your general is Dull there's no point in sending him to cities with School buildings.
  9. Re: How much cavalry do you use?

Shock cavalry could be good with enough training, but never became decisive in itself, until the advent of stirrups and saddles.
  10. Small Romani Mistake that Needs to be Corrected in Next Patch

    Hi,

"Metalla Maior" - this name is incorrect.

Since "Metalla" is neuter plural, "mines", "Metalla" needs a plural adjective. Metalla Maiores is the correct term. "Big, large scale mines".
  11. Re: How much cavalry do you use?

Yes, that's also true. By the way, if you don't have any hands holding the saddle and no stirrup, your stability when charging with a barge pole lance is close to zero. Of course trained cavalrymen...
  12. Sticky: Re: Announcement: Europa Barbarorum II 2.35 released!

You need to install a 4gb patch, it's going to solve it and make everything much easier to you.
  13. Re: How much cavalry do you use?

Romans and Greeks also didn't have the larger breeds employed by the Asians.
  14. Re: How much cavalry do you use?

What you say is true, but remember: Romani infantry polls are always cheap and plenty, esp. if you build lots of coloniae, and also it suits historically the sort of approach they had to warfare....
  15. Re: How much cavalry do you use?

I use it for both, really. Actually, let's say that as early as the Second Punic War and Rome employed 50-70% of its cavalry assets from a varying poll of mercenaries, allies and so on.

    The...
  16. Re: How much cavalry do you use?

Depends. For Romani, it's always 1-2. For Gauls and other better cavalry factions, it's usually 2-4. Their cavalry is also much better, and they tend to rely a lot more on it whereas as Romani you...
  17. Re: Egypt cannot build roman province

... but historically you know that Romans conquered Rhaetia (capital Cambodunum, later changed elsewhere I don't remember), Britannia, also Tarodunon. So there's a case for building provinces in...
  18. Re: Egypt cannot build roman province

Hi, Quintus Sertorius. The same problem happens in Kambodunon, in Rhaetia. Can't build any guvt there, including Roman province. This needs to be fixed.
  19. Re: A Small Issue w/ Celtic Voicemod

OK, thanks for your input. Will wait for other replies.
  20. A Small Issue w/ Celtic Voicemod

    Hello,

The new Celtic voicemod is great but I've detected a small issue.

It seems that the voice command "EXs Kingete", which means "attack", "fight them", is used for an attack, but also, it...
  21. Re: How much human suffering have you caused over the course of your Total War career?

You can only go as low as 400. Really. I know this because I was a in hotly contested dispute with Skodra against the Epeirotes, who enslaved the populace when they conquered it from the Eleutheroi....
  22. Re: How much human suffering have you caused over the course of your Total War career?

Hard/Normal is the only difficulty I ever play at and I'm comfortable with it.
  24. Battle-Winning, Cost Effective, Also Historically Accurate Boii Army Roster

    Hi,

I've created a new profile on the .ORG but I realised the .ORG is dead (a far cry from a decade ago when I used to play 1.2), so here it is. I've posted this and I want your opinions.

  25. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

Read Heidegger's critique of ontotheology, as well as Melendo's and Maritain's critique of modern post-Descartes episteme. Western philosophy is nihilistic because it does not talk about Bweing or...
  26. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

Yeah, actually I took this from Rudolf Steiner's archive because it is the most concise and best summary ever written on the subject. Of course interpreting it from the Republic itself is, like, more...
  27. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

As an answer for everything you have been senselessly repeating here, I'll just let this guy speak up for me here. Watch from start to finish:

  28. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

It's genuine disdain for subjectivism borne out of a nihilistic experience and readings of Heidegger and Nietzsche.

As for one clear, concise sentence that can summarize scientism and logical...
  29. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

I'll finish this by quoting a prominent 19th century critic of the Enlightenment, who foreshadowed its demise and its rotten results:
  30. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

No, wrong, it says quite simply that the objective universe is only materia signata quantitate, or pure number, and that the rest of the elements are subjective projections. Totally fallacious.

  31. Re: Why hasn’t Europe ever trusted Russia?

As per the OP, let's just say this: for the period before WW2, you would do better to read intellectuals like Ivan Kireyevsky and Oswald Spengler.

Russia was always very far apart from European...
  32. Re: Socialism for thee, but not for me. Vox media staff unionizes, company shifts hiring to part-time and contractors

Leftism today has become a sort of pseudo-shadow. Root leftism was socialist, but nowadays leftism is just cheap disguise for furthering the interests of neoliberal plutocrats like Soros, who...
  33. Re: Socialism for thee, but not for me. Vox media staff unionizes, company shifts hiring to part-time and contractors

That's not socialism. It's left liberal crony capitalism, a sort of US trademark. It means neoliberal capitalism, exploitation, de-unionization, underemployment and all that stuff - except that it...
  34. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

I have nothing against Christianity, so long as it is genuine High Church Christianity anyway. This Christianity existed in the West under the semblance of Catholic Papism ("tu es Petrus et super...
  35. Re: Brazilian President Bolsonaro's policies

He has softened up a lot since then. Now he holds LGBT flags in the open, and has enacted legislation that protects women from violence. His sons, Carlos and Eduardo, are soft and friendly to the gay...
  36. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

I meant precisely that. A fat guy on steroids, is totally, fake don't you agree?

As for the rest of your post, it's plainly and simply gobbledigook.

You seem to be very poorly aware of...
  37. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

Anti-Western feeling is well and alive in the global leftwing, including the most extreme sects. And no, just ask the youth of the Arab Spring: they don't believe in the West or Democracy. Ask the...
  38. Re: Brazilian President Bolsonaro's policies

As for Bolsonaro and fascism, let's just say this: All of the traits that you denounced are a key figure of Communist China, including suppression of dissent and minorities, anti-intellectualism, and...
  39. Re: Brazilian President Bolsonaro's policies

Ahhh Ludicus, this is just ridiculous and just reflects how much the liberal leftwing mentality is stupid to the extreme.

For one thing, protection of minorities is not a priority. It's a tool,...
  40. Re: Why Religion Cannot Be Measured by Modern Rationality - A Critique of Rationalism, Scientism and Post-Modern Metaphysics

In a certain, special sense, the West was once considered a role model for all cultures in the world that had been left behind by modernization. But nowadays, outside the West, in Russia, the Islamic...
