I had the desktop version of the 7300 and it had trouble with battles.
Anything but small unit scale and how much trade you generate. Otherwise, it's hardcoded.
Hello Everyone.
First of all, thanks for everyone doing the work and providing newbs like me with such a load of interesting information about modding.
And second, sorry for opening up this old Thread with a question thats seems to have been answered a few times, but it really gives me a headache.
I just cant get a log file. I've read through all the instructions in the threads (all that I could find at least) and changed my cfg according to the provided info.
Now it looks like this:
[features]
mod = UKMF
[log]
to = logs\system.log.txt
level = * trace
[video]
widescreen=1
[game]
allusers=1
Everytime I start up the mod with the batch file I get a CTD immediately, but Idont get a logfile.
Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

@McCullen
What's the folder name of your mod?:)
Hi Ishar.
The folder name is UKMF.
I have not used a complete mod to play around with, I tried to make a mod of the original M2TW in the "UKMF" folder in the m2 directory.
Unpacked all the files into this directory, made a backup and then followed the instructions in the tutorial here http://totalwar-forum.de/wbb/index.p...&threadID=2121 to create a new faction based on an existing one. I have done this till the section where it comes to edit the graphics of the game.
The tutorial is german, but as Ive figured out it follows the tutorial here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=225194 and includes the same steps only in a different order. Only the files that are provided in this tutorial are not included in the german tutorial.
Im pretty sure to have followed the steps very thoroughly, and repeated them twice after always getting a CTD (also have copied the backed up files over the modified to restore original game and it worked after the restore without CTD.)
Its just hard to track my faults without the log, and trial and error and recopying tired me a bit out...
Thanks for replying so fast, btw.
Download this then paste your modded files in this mod's data folder and you are good to go.;)
If anybody knows please tell me how to change profit from the merchants and parameter of attack on buildings in ballista!
Hi,
I have followed the instructions about the modfolder. But i have a problem: I have put in my mod folder some modded files (descr_mount,export_descr_unit and descr projectile),but when I start the game,It load the vanilla files instead of my. How to solve it?
Thanks
Did you put
in your .cfg?Code:[io]
filefirst = true
Thanks,
i have put it in "medieval2.preference.cfg" but it doesn't work. The game still use the vanilla files.
Make the .cfg read only after inputting
[io]
filefirst = true
First of all,thank you very much,guys. You help me a lot.
Still doesn't work. It loads the vanilla files instead of my.So,let's start from the beginning:
1)Created the .bat file with this code: "medieval2.exe @TexMod.cfg"
2)Make a copy of the cfg files and renamed it "TexMod.cfg"
3)Added the following codes to TexMod.cfg:
"
[features]
mod = TexMod
[io]
filefirst = true"
4)Created a new folder call "TexMod". Inside of it,i've put the data folder with the sounds and world folders.
5)I've placed my modified files into data folder (Export_descr_unit,descr_mount,descr_projectile)
What did I do wrong?
Make a .bat and a .cfg for TexMod in tits modfolder and put these lines in its .cfg.
Download one of these, it will save anymore confusion.

I've already tried this mod folder and the others,but none works for me. That's because I try to make a mod folder for myself. I have the same problem everytimes
Read all 9 pages of this thread, spent 2 hours looking over the web. Cant find out how to turn off the campaign map tooltips.
I even added 'show_tooltips = 0' to the [game] section of the medieval2.preference.cfg file to no avail. I did manage to get it to windowed mode with no problem, so editing it isnt an issue.
I think all the mouse tooltip issues are resolved only on the battle map, but are not fixed on the campaign map. Is this something that cannot be turned off. It is so freaking annoying. Any help would be very much appreciated, its driving me bonkers!
That command is for battle map only, for campaign map you have to edit the tooltips.txt.strings.bin.txt file in the data\text folder and delete all the entries that you don't want with a simple space, that way you will only get a small square. I believe that's the only way.:)
