[PItalica2] Bug/CTD Reports Thread
Post your CTDs in this section
==> Guidelines for reporting a bug <==
Quote:
1) Be as detailed and specific as possible.
-if it's during a battle, list the factions and the specific units involved.
-if it's during the campaign, list the specific faction and the type of character.
Quote:
2) Always append the last 20 lines of the Log to your CTD report.
-Without the log, your problem cannot be addressed.
-The log can be found in /mods/PItalica2_v096/logs/launch_log.txt

3) Whenever possible, always try to include a screenshot.
-Without a screenshot it may be difficult to find your problem, and consequently to remove it.
Etruscan pyramids and huge wall fails
So there i was, cruising along in this cool mod, when i decided to conquer a city, and fight it out on the battle map. To my despair, Etruscan buildings are represented by Aztec pyramids -_- which sorf of breaks the game for me. A few units lack description, some characters are still receiving piety, and ive got medieval knights in my entourage -_-
I know this is still in development, but come on, PYRAMIDS?!
And also, why do small italian cities in the 4th century BC all have huge stone walls??? They would be lucky to have a wooden palisade, but every city in this mod rivals Troy!
Id like an answer as to when you are going to correct these errors, so i can download the patch. Thanks for the good work.

Hmm I'll look into this.
I don't believe other cultures have this issue.

Screenshots would help address the issue.

Oh you men the retinue? Retinue has not been reworked yet, most likely with the next patch.

Not really, there is no comparison with Troy. The settlements and fortifications are just relative to one another, for gameplay reasons.
Re: [PItalica2] Bug/CTD Reports Thread
So, you are going to leave the huge stone walls in? Even though they are extremely historically inaccurate? And that pyramid city was in the Thyrinian (or whatever) Etruscan faction i think.
Re: [PItalica2] Bug/CTD Reports Thread
There's nothing intrinsically wrong with the walls. Only the hugest settlements will have them: Syracuse, Carthage, possibly Tarquinii, etc.

What are your sources for the non accuracy of huge stone walls ?
I have read some books who asserted that Roma built his wall early (and huge wall to prevent future raids around the Capitol)...
Theodor Mommsen told even about a second wall built during the Servius era.
For the pyramids, the Mod stays "In Progress"... thank you for your understanding :thumbsup2

Actually, I think you're incorrect. The time period of the mod is post 338 BC, and many cities in Italy had been fortified with defensive works previous to this date. If your specifically referring to the Etruscans having sizable fortifications, there is ample evidence to suggest that they did in fact have pretty extensive walls, just look at Rusellae and Veii for example. And while the walls are not as well preserved at other locations, the existence of stone fortifications is hardly subject to the accusation of historical inaccuracy, especially in a mod that's subject to the limitations of a game engine as far as establishing proper balance goes.
Re: [PItalica2] Bug/CTD Reports Thread
Oh yeah, I've got the Aztec problem too, except with some cities in the northern Apulani(sp?) regions, like arpi and the one north of that. I also had some "Silver Surfer" troops. Just a pure silver skin, with it affecting only about half the units in the army. Another one is that Syracusan horse archers have weird lance-like things sticking out of their arms when they have their swords out.
Re: [PItalica2] Bug/CTD Reports Thread

Will be fixed in the next patch.

Are you using Steam?
What is the location of your "kingdoms.exe"? What is the location of "Launch_PItalica2.bat"?
