Re: >>>Download<<< Morning Sun Version 2.3
Regarding Ming units I've been reading the blog Great Ming Military, which explains the weapons and armour used by Ming armies. It has an interesting section about what is and isn't historically accurate.

http://greatmingmilitary.blogspot.co...t-post-p2.html
I plan to add some textures from Song units as I have a Song dynasty Mount and Blade mod, and the Tusi and South Ming soldiers did wear some older style armour during this time period.
Regarding ships in addition to the problems that have been mentioned each ship is split into 4 parts (bow, stern, starboard, and port) and each part has multiple versions to reflect different levels of damage. So for each new ship I'd need to make 3-4 versions of it. This is why so few new ships have been added.
Regarding Korean units most of the high quality Ming body parts and textures are from a Mount and blade mod; I didn't make these units. For Korea their units are either recoloured Ming units or are made using modified Shogun 2 body parts. As a result it's not easy for me to replace the existing Korean models and texture with higher quality models and textures because I'm not able to make them.

Re: >>>Download<<< Morning Sun Version 2.3
I have added some scabbards to the Chinese units. I can't add them to units that only have swords because the unit will use the scabbard and sword at the same time. I can add them to units that use swords as a secondary weapon but they will disappear once the unit uses their sword.
I may be able to add quivers but in China they wore their quivers near the scabbard, so it may look weird.

Re: >>>Download<<< Morning Sun Version 2.3
i agree with u sir, the scabbard is always bug, but maybe the quiver not? hahaha just joking don't worry about that one :laughter:. hey i forgot something, sir why the chinese map is so "Empty"? u know like forest, mountain, Yangzte River, and the great wall its more like hill for me. can u add some cliff ?
Re: >>>Download<<< Morning Sun Version 2.3
Forests are difficult to add as you have to add each forest area to an esf file. Also if you go to far east and west they won't show up, in the same way settlements don't show up.
Mountains are time consuming to make and I'd need an accurate and high resolution height map to make them more accurate.
I tried making the Yangzte river into a river you could sail up, with land bridges to let armies cross it. It caused huge problems because you can't have roads going over land bridges. As a result cities north and south of the Yangzte weren't be able to trade unless they both had ports.
Regarding the great wall I only have 5 land textures for the map; these are grass, farmland, cliffs, sand, and mountain. I used the cliff texture on the great wall because it was the best texture I had. I made the great wall using the height map because if I made a model and put it on the campaign map it would be invisible, just like the settlements in west China.
Re: >>>Download<<< Morning Sun Version 2.3
actually i don't really mind about some kind "forest" on the chinese map, its really satisfied for me to see "the new map" on shogun 2. make me want's to play again. oh yeah i found turtle ship 3D model on turbosquid.com.
Re: >>>Download<<< Morning Sun Version 2.3
When was 2.3 released? I cant remember what version I got last O_O
I hope modding is going well! Also, since mhawari and you guess who were talking about it, couldnt it be possible to make a Turtle Ship based on another ship in the game, and not show sailors on it? That would probably mess up boarding actions...
But you aint supposed to board a Turtle Ship!
and Uanime, im curious, whats your Song Dynasty mod for M&B Warband? I love Warband and mods for it :P Wouldnt mind checking it out!
Re: >>>Download<<< Morning Sun Version 2.3
hahaha yeah u right the turtle ship is not to use for boarding, its just can to shot with cannon. perhaps turtle ship in this game is very impossible:whistling. like this one

I think it was around December. I updated the first post with the date, then TWcentre rolled back to before I updated it.

The problem is that no one know to make new ships because we don't have the files needed to make one. Ships are more complex than body parts.

It's a Chinese mod. It's called China_da_song_3 and was made by the same people who made the M&B Ming mod (link to the Ming mod is in the first post).

Re: >>>Download<<< Morning Sun Version 2.3
Regarding updating this mod in the next version the main changes will be making the unit stats more accurate and adding more armour variety to the Ming. The Tusi and Jurchen will also get more types of armour.

Would you be able to provide me with more information regarding the composition of the Dai Viet army during this time period. For example what armour did they wear, what weapons did they use, and which troops were most common.
