Hey B Ward, do we have to use the mod switch that you provided us with? or we can use just about any mod folder to test it? i know this is a stupid question but i wanna make sure if there are other purposes for that mod switch?
It was for the class to use, but if you want to place your files in another mod folder, that's up to you also.
the game won't run. I choose the .bat file, a small window appears for a second and then it disappears!!!
did you run the cfgfixer?
yes.
I can't find a plug in for dds in gimp 2.6, can someone give a link for me ?
Thanks
Ps : I was on gimp 2.2, I have reinstalled Gimp (to 2.6.1)
http://nifelheim.dyndns.org/~cocidius/dds/
that's the one I'm using with Gimp.
Also @ Julius are you running vista or xp?
I am running xp.
And the cfg is fine. I copied it in the m2tw folder with the bat to see if it works and it does.
Also: When I choose save from the nvidia pop-up window it says something about "copy".
Questions:1) I color a layer with brown, but I want to draw a shape in it in lighter color. However, only darker colors can be see, but it comes black. What should I do to add light colors? (Photoshop)
2)I do everything I must, but when I click the convert_all_dds.bat, a window comes up and says that I it can't open this program, what should I do?
Texture done now i need only the attachments, i use my normal map which in my opinion looks better than vanilla´s normal.

I tried to attach files but we can't in this sub forum.
@ Romanos IV
Are you making another layer on top of the dark brown layer? If you are that will cause your other color to blend on top of the dark brown layer. If you are going to go about it that way, select the pixels of your shape and delete it from the dark brown layer so your shape layer can only blend onto the fabric layer. Also have you downloaded and installed python to fun the converter?
@Y_Filip
Lesson One takes you into how to create a layer and color the clothes texture. Anything I post here would be the same as Lesson One. It also has screenshots to aid you in doing so. I'm not fulling understanding your problem. What exactly are you having an issue with in the image editor?
@Icedie of South
That's fine, but all that was required was a vanilla retexture so you don't have to do all that, but I'm glad you have a higher understanding of the textures. Also, get your attachmentsets done and you'll be finish the lesson. Great job. :thumbsup4
@sinople
No need to attach the files, screenshots of your textures and then in game screenshots are more than enough. And I'm still lost as to why you had to go through all that just to convert. I do apologize as I'm not a gimp user and it didn't make me go through all that to save my .dds file. But I'm glad you have it working. Just get me you attachmentsets files done with screenshots and you'll also be completed with this lesson. Nice going. :)
how to change the clothes texture
Taken directly from Lesson One. Also what program are you using and do you have a working knowledge of that program and its tools?

The mod still won't run.
(I have the kingdoms DVD)
It doesn't require Kingdoms. It runs from vanilla.
@ Julius 2 :
Just put your .bat and your .cfg in the Medieval II total war folder not in the Basic_Mesh_Texturing folder ;)
