~ History ~
The British East India Trading Company The one and only incorported Company which managed to build up an Empire. A Company which will cause the American Revolution, making millions of Chinese people drug addicts and brings the Tea to Darjeeling.
Their might depends on one of the largest private Armies of the world, an Army with whom the Company always managed to knock any Rebellion down, but after decades of exploitation in India, this army revolts against their masters and will cause the End of the East India Company.
In 1857 their 240 000 large Army consists mainly out of Sepoys, native mercanaries. But as the British are introducing a new, greased (to make them waterproof) cartridges for the Enfield Rifle, the Sepoys deny to use them, because of the rumour that the cartridges were greased with suet.
Finally, on the 10th May 1857 near Meerut, threethousand Sepoys started the Urprising and killed forthy british Officers, Woman and Children. Soon the revolt jumped over to Dehli, were a progrom happened against Europeans and indian Christians.
But soon the Britsh will strike back, either murdering Woman and Children, burning villages the Begin of the Indian Mutiny, or, the first War of Independence of India.
~ Mod focus ~
Our goal is simple...an historic based full conversation of Empire: Total War with as much challenge and gameplay-feeling we can offer to you.
The historic base must be sometimes a bit flexible to create an really gripping game.
But we take care to include as much historic facts as possible.
This mod is an complete overhaul with an detailed new campaign, an complete unit models rework incl. artillery models, historic flags & graphics, new sounds & music, loading-screens., campaign models, quotes, intro-movie and many more features.
You should have the feeling to start a different game.
And very important - this mod focus a lot on land combat!

Campaign start time is early spring 1857.
-
With our focus on India himself we have changed the range of an army
to a shorter distance and compensate it with one turn for one week.
Now you canīt run in one turn from your settlement to the enemies city.
You must make your route and have an eye on your armies.
Ambushes, interceptions and fighting for towns will await you before you can siege the enemy.
And for this India is perfect, it have the best campaign terrain
for strategic usage of all three theaters.
All Indian Factions get full AI support, while we lower it for the rest of the world.
This mod have an focus on land battles, naval warfare will be lesser then usual.
The AI is told to prefer Army-techs, Army-buildings and recruitment of land units.
This all promise you real action.
The factions himself are from beginning in alliances together and at war with each other.
Relationships are fine tuned between this nations.
Both alliances have the chance to get the neutral Princely States on their side,
but it is much easier for the rebells as for the BEIC.
Each faction have his pros and contras.
And also you can easy see the big differences between
Native Rebells, Sepoys and BEIC Regular.
While the company can place into battles highly trained troops,
the are outnumbered by their enemies.
And when we say outnumbered, we mean outnumbered.
An regular Company Infantry will have around 150-200 mens for each Unit.
This professionals are expensive, but really hardy compare to the others.
Indian Units can reach a manpower of 400, but have overall an lack of training and technology.
They must use their advantage by raiding and making ambushes.
But donīt think you will fight against peasants.
Artillery is expensive, but you need them to break down the walls of fortifications.
The Indian versions of forts are much better to handle
for the AI and are welcome in our mod.
We have spoken now many times from AI behavior,
you can read more details below under "Challange".

All Units for all factions in India are handmade.
We will show in this preview from time to time new unitmodels.
Additional we use artillery models from "The Blue and The Grey",
which is the same timeframe, and we also acting in these team.

We are proud to can use the best AI available in The India Mutiny -
DarthMod 6.9 by Darth Vader. An excellent work!
You will feel a really dangerous AI opponent in battles and campaign.
More info you can get at the TWC - Empire Darth Mod (click)
But this was not all for us. We changed some aspects from this genius CAI,
while we let the BAI like it was designed apart from
some balancing tweaks specially for BEIC which you will feel.
We have now a different CAI for the Company himself,
one for the other Indian Factions and one basic for the Rest of the World.
Overall the CAI have an strong focus on his army.
And a big part also goes into economic
so that the CAI can upkeep this bigger armies.
You will encounter way more enemy units on the campaign map as in vanilla.
At least the campaign is tuned to be what it should be - Total War!

:) At the moment you start in this version 1857, and 52 turns are 1 year. So it would need about 150-200 turns to reach the time were the secession in north america started. But...:hmm:...maybe we can bring it in as an event. With basic units of union & csa. And the confederate states are rising in 1861.
But in consideration of 52turns/year we must then split up the campaign and deliver 2. The second then have the same starting year but 12 turns/year. You decide which campaign you wanna play by the launcher.
Yes, this suggestion is noted now and we think about. Maybe as submod, maybe as later version, maybe included.
Thanks for the feedback guys. You are welcome.
Re: British East India Company - The Indian Mutiny (Preview)
Goa should be under Portuguese control as was historically the case.

Re: British East India Company - The Indian Mutiny (Preview)
Good Work on this new project guys !
I was wondering , why not an Italian Wars Mod (1859-1861) , there aren't lots of things to change from the ACW Mod in matter of models.
Re: British East India Company - The Indian Mutiny (Preview)
The unification of italia would be much better on NTW, since you have here an own map of northern italia and alreadly all important factions^^.

Re: British East India Company - The Indian Mutiny (Preview)
This looks really nice! great job +rep guys :thumbsup2
Will u have naval combat as well? I don't know if the indian rebels had ships or not but was just wondering.
Also I'm guessing you focussed the campaign map on a real life map of that time? It looks really nice!

The problem is that there isn't the southern part of the Italian Peninsula...and personally I prefer Mods concentrated on MP , because most of the time AI , even with all your superb work , acts stupidly.
Re: British East India Company - The Indian Mutiny (Preview)
Thanks for your good feedback and rep friends.
Italia could be an interesting mod-focus too, but for the moment we have enough to do with 2 project:pcthrow:

Obviuosly It's something to think about for a future project , however ACW Mod would be a very good base to start from , in matter of stats , models and textures..
Re: British East India Company - The Indian Mutiny (Preview)
+rep from me, guys to.
Re: British East India Company - The Indian Mutiny (Preview)
We have included now the newest version of Darthmod - 6.8 which is an really good improvement.
Re: British East India Company - The Indian Mutiny (Preview)
Carricanta told me you need Portuguese colonial uniforms so here are Portuguese Sepoys in Mozambique. We don't know whether the Sepoys in India wore the same uniform though. I will post some more non-native Portuguese colonial uniforms in the next hour or so:
Mozambique Sepoys1st Infantry Regiment of Goa (1791) (this unit is in my Portuguese Unit Pack mod):2nd Infantry Regiment of Goa:
