I don't know if it is possible to make a 'siege-historical battle' but if it is then there will be ;)
There is a siege historical battle in vanilla M2TW.
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
How big is the 3.0 file gonna B? im kinda scarred wit all these settlements, that it's goona b like 4 gb or somthin!
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
I bet KK is waiting for someone else finishing their work before the release. Maybe some submods or something. It's said that there will be lot more content than just custom settlements and he can't release this before those are done and implemented.
Until that he is just making more and more these custom settlements:thumbsup2

If you are referring to the place where Elrond lives, its actually called Rivendell .
You must be already the third person insulting Tolkien's names.

To be honest i dont see him rolling in his grave about a couple of spelling mistakes in a forum about a mod which is basically dedicated to his work and made for no monetary gains, just for the love of his world.

Well, it's 3,19GB now, so yeah with all these custom settlements I guess it will be over 4GB. And stop asking for the release date people, not even KK knows it! (probably)

There were links to imageshack posted a few pages abck so if you can be bothered you should be able to find em. If you control f for my name then they should be on that page or not far from it (ignoring this page :P )
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
Hmm are all the orc settlements going to be like this, or just the "orc settlement"?I mean, they are too easy to be sieged, although reducing the cost of orc troops, could balance this .... I think that giving each race a "character" like this could make the game much more real.
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
just wonderful! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
but, now i ask me, *Bruchtal-Imladris-Rivendell* ... how will it be on the map? :hmm: are Rivendell inside of the settlement of Imladris?

Rivendell is the Commom Speech of Imladris, the Sindarin name.:laughter:

I know. I just thought to relieve my anxiety with something else than asking about the release date. Hence the nit-picking.
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
Hello KK, will there also be generic cities for gondor and the northmen cultures?
+ rep for the great work once again.
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
Brilliant work! Absolutely beautiful!
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
This is amazing. Even though you have most landmark cities completed, it still goes to show how much more you have to go when it comes to creating the generic cities (especially when there are so many different levels, especially when you include town and fort tiers). Your designs will be interesting to see (especially if you can manage a build style specific to the reemergence of Arnor!).

Arnor and Gondor generic will look the same because you can only make one type generic settlements to one culture and Arnor and Gondor are both dunedain  or at least i think so :P but even, if not Gondor and Arnor schould look the same because they are both numenorian kingdoms and it would be to much work to do 2 generic settlements :D
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Epic job !!! :-)
Re: Preview: Settlements of Middle-earth - Part III
Incredible, as always astounding work.
I do have a parting queery though... Rivindell looks phenomonal, but as was mentioned by Jean A Luc...

I imagined that Rivindell would have only a single path leading to Elrond's House, not two seperate paths with two seperate bridges; as in a multileveled settlement with the path ziggzagging up after one crosses the bridge, thus creating more places to deploy troops and defend, as well as making Archers extremely effective due to them being able to fire from any position...
It just seems mediocrally defendable... And also are both bridges protected by a little outer gate? or just one?
