Competitions
Competitions are often run in the Graphics Workshop. Enter your art (following the competition requirements) into these competitions, and be in with a chance of glory. The rules for the monthly GWC (Graphics Workshop Competition) can be found bellow. Any other competitions will probably follow the same rules, or have the rules stated in the o.p.
Medals
The Graphics Competition Medal is awarded to members who win the weekly competition (found in The Graphics Workshop) a certain amount of times.
Graphics Competition Medal (Bronze) Awarded to any member that has won The Graphics Competition between three to eight times.
Post your work in the current submissions thread for it to count for voting. The submissions will end and new competition start on a day of each week, giving users plenty of time to upload and post their own work: 7 days generally, at the discretion of the manager. The work is then voted on, with the poll staying open but hidden until it closes. Polls will usually remain open for a week, but this is at the discretion of the competition manager.
Members may only vote once and cannot vote for their own work. They may not advertise their own work (see bellow) or use Alt accounts for extra votes.
Copying other members work will result in being banned from The Graphics Workshop for a period of 1 month.
Max image size (unless stated otherwise): 550x175 pixels, max file size: 250KB
You may not enter more than one signature/entry per competition.
The graphics item must be yours, and made by you. You may of course take and manipulate images off the internet/games e.t.c, but the finished thing must be originally yours
It must be in accordance to the current competition theme. If it is difficult to judge whether or not it is within the theme then the Art Staff shall decide.
You may of course advertise the competition, but you may not PM people requesting their vote for your work, or ask for their vote in any type of way.
The picture must of course fit inside the general ToS rules on images, I.E no explicit images, censor by-passing e.t.c
The picture can not contain your username or any other identifier unless specifically noted in the competition theme or individual competition rules.
You can not advertise your own work that has been submitted in current competitions anywhere on TWC.
You can not use your current competition entry as your signature or avatar until current vote has ended.
Once a member submits an entry in the Submission thread of a Competition, unless the entry is disqualified in some way, the entry cannot be entered in any other Graphics Workshop Competition.
And of course, please follow the
ToS
A very important part of the ToS for the Graphic Workshop contributors to know:
Rules on obscene content
Obscene Content (1, 3, 6, or 12 points)
Obscene content is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to:
1. Providing images, videos, or verbal descriptions of nudity. This includes, but is not limited to:
Any figure whose genitals, pubic hair, buttocks, or (if female) nipples or areolas are exposed, partially or totally; or are not exposed, but it's clear that this is only because of the angle of the shot or incidental intervening objects (e.g., hands, hair, bits of cloth).
Visible outlines of genitals or female nipples through clothing.
Anything that falls narrowly outside the previous provisions, at the discretion of the moderators.
Verbally describing or providing image, video, or audio files that represent or hint at sexual acts. Passing references may be acceptable, but descriptions that are graphic or include any details are not permitted.
This applies to photographs, drawings, or any other representation of humanoid figures. It may also apply to non-humanoid figures such as animals, at the discretion of the moderators. Nudity may be permitted for serious and non-titillating purposes, such as the exhibition of recognized art or historical models in modifications, at the discretion of the moderators.
2. Providing images, videos, or verbal descriptions of an unreasonably disgusting nature. This includes, but is not limited to:
Excrement and other obscene example of bodily functions.
Real-world violence and extreme gore, including executions and the dead or wounded of armed conflict.
Extreme virtual or imagined violence.
Links may not be posted for the purpose of providing obscene content. If a website incidentally includes some reasonably obscene content, it's acceptable to link to it for some other purpose as long as a clear warning is given. Similarly, if content incidentally includes some reasonably obscene content, it's acceptable to include it in a post for some other purpose, as long as a clear warning is given and the reader must actively click a button to view it (e.g., spoiler boxes or YouTube videos).
Excessively obscene content, particularly porn and extreme gore, is still not allowed to be posted or linked to in any fashion. The distinction between acceptable and excessive obscenity is at the discretion of the moderators. As always, if you are not sure, ask a moderator.

Re: Graphics Workshop Competition (GWC) Rules
Should the medals be removed from the first post? They are no longer being used i think, as they were intended for the weekly competitions winners. Should this topic be updated or rather archived? If anyone has any opinion, please let me know.
edit:
The medals are still in use, and will continue to be used.
