Problems with launching NTW3
I have severe problems with launching. I get to the screen where I choose my nation, which I do, the first loading screen opens, then crash. I have the "v80_spc files.rar" which I have unzipped. Is this right? The "v80_spc files" then appears as a folder and when I open this folder I have 2 further folders "Campaign" and "campaign_maps". I replaced the vanilla "campaigns" and "campaign_maps" folders with the two from "v80_spc files.rar". Is this right? I then deleted the original"v80_spc files.rar". Game still crashes. Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry for Double post.
Re: Problems with launching NTW3
Problem solved. Uninstalled everything. Re-installed NTW from Disc, then NTW3. Didn't do any of the above. Working now.
Re: Problems with launching NTW3
I cant launch it either. I have a Steam version of NTW. I have installed NTW3 to the Steam file, Patch NTW3 8.2 afterwards, but when I click on new icon, it goes like: Qt5Core.dll is missing. If I use normal napoleon icon, the game starts, but with no NTW3 mod obviously just the vanilla. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: I think there is some mess up with installation. Because I just tried to reinstall it manually, I put the correct folder, but the installator says there is no napoleon.exe file in the folder. But THERE IS napolen.exe file in the folder. So this is really weird.

I didn't have all the files right, at first: NTW3-8.0 Core, NTW3-8.0 Campaign, NTW3-8.0 Maps, NTW3-8.0 Themes; optionial.
Then patch NTW3-8.2 I think, but I installed both not sure on that part. patch 1 or 2 asks to install short cut.

FIRST use the Restore Vanilla button on your NTW3 desktop launcher.
SECOND go to the Napoleon Total War folder and run the unins001 program to remove the NTW3 files. Then manually check the data folder and remove any residual NTW3 folders or files .....this is also a good time to run file cleaner and defrag your HD.
THIRD go the your Steam library ~Total War: Napoleon ~right click and go to bottom of list and select PROPERTIES ~select LOCAL FILES from the pop-up menu and ~run VERIFY INTEGRITY of GAME FILES ~this will restore your vanilla game, play a few short vanilla battles or campaignd to verify that everything is working correctly.
FOURTH download and install the new NTW3 v8.3 mod from Mod DB: https://www.moddb.com/mods/napoleonic-total-war-3
Re: Problems with launching NTW3
i have a probelm when i launch the game with 8.3 core,8.3 themes, and 8.4 patch no sound appears. The menu music is silent for some reason
Re: Problems with launching NTW3
For the sound issue try deleting the preferences.script file located in the AppData/ Roaming/ The Creative Assembly/ Npoleon/ scripts folder. The game will rewrite a new preferences file on startup of a new game and should fix the sound problem. I have similar issues while changing out the many files required for the NTW3 mod. Try this step below and run a vanilla game to check that its running properly. You may have to reinstall the original NTW game files as Darth Mod overwrites some of the data files. The NTW3 mod is does NOT do this and has a feature to restore the original vanilla files.
Go the your Steam library ~Total War: Napoleon ~right click and go to bottom of list and select PROPERTIES ~select LOCAL FILES from the pop-up menu and ~run VERIFY INTEGRITY of GAME FILES ~this will restore your vanilla game, play a few short vanilla battles or campaign to verify that everything is working.
