New Launcher And Mod Manager.
Be advised that we'll certainly have issues with it, since it's still a BETA release. Make sure to report any launcher issues on CA's official Forums, so we could have quicker fixes ;)
If you want to use the old launcher:
Go to Rome 2 on STEAM/Right click/Properties/Betas/Select the beta you would like to use/launcher_release_canditate.
New Launcher And Mod Manager.
Hello!
The new launcher introduced load order to the mod manager.
By standard, it goes as follows:
1. Part 1
2. Part 3
3. Part 2
4. movies.pack
5. movies-rome2.pack
Is that correct?
Also, does it influence when I change the load order to part 1, 2 then 3?
Besides that, my friend and I can't play Multiplayer Campaign because it says we have different versions, however we both only subscribed to DEI on the Workshop and both verified our game caches.
New Launcher And Mod Manager.
Hi, not sure why part 3 is auto loaded before Part 2. You should load them numerically. Now about your Multi issue, you probably have different submods etc
PS
Don't forget, the launcher will probably have issues as it's still a BETA release.
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
I had tons of problems with the steam version of the game, and IIRC not being able to play multi-player was one of them. Use the standlone version, it's much more stable because you have complete control over it. Not the case with the steam version.
Also, new launcher? Good grief.

It will be a good tool as soon as it's out of BETA. But now it's more like a hindrance for users. It currently shows that I'm subscribed to 20 mods (I'm not)

Or, they're onto you! :whistling

Probably
Plus it crashes STEAM when I'm trying to delete the false subscriptions. What a nightmare for people with OCD.
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
Do i had to activate these movie files? Is this not vanilla files and load automatically? I mean in the old luncher there were not such "mods".
I'm a little bit confused...

No clue. I'll have to check.
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
I Did not activate the movie files... Everything seems to be working fine... (Only 1 turn in though so I'm not 100%)
my load order (had to move 1 of my sudmods up):
-submods
-part 1 standalone
-part 2 standalone
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
Part 3 loading before part 2 shouldn't neccesarily cause issues by itself I believe, since the 2nd and 3rd part only store visual assets afaik.
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
What are the movies packs?
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
I loaded up fine. And I play with mods out the anus.
I was pretty shook when I first saw the new launcher though.
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
The new launcher runs all mods fine for me, except my own. He is also downloading every mod I published, although I am not subscribed to all of them. Weird.

Well, that's one of the issues. Also, be aware that people with different OS will have different experiences with it ;)

Good to know. Feel free to report any issues you may have.
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
Uh oh. The new launcher is downloading data from your computer without your permission?
What a nightmare for those with OCD and those who are principally opposed to granting steam rights to their work....

It actually downloaded a (Total War Hellas Syracuse) pack I wasn't even aware I still had. I was a co-creator on STEAM before 4yrs or so, but never a subscriber.
Long story short, the launcher found it and auto-downloaded it. True story :laughter:
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
Update: We changed the load order to part 1 > 2 > 3 and deactivated the two movie pack files (those are Rome 2 native files and are listed for reasons I do not know), and it works now.
However there is still a bug with Rome faction I believe.
If you get events like the general sailing the Cloaka Maxima, and you choose what to do, under the Faction Summary tab it no longer says that there is a pending resolution.
Next turn there is no reveal of what happened and no bonuses or mali have been aoplied.
This bug exists since CA's Community Fixes Patch and DEI 1.2.4
Anyone know what's up?
Re: New Launcher And Mod Manager.
Dilemmas I think are semi-broken for some reason after one of the recent updates by CA.

Thanks for the response; are they aware?
Also, are they only semi-broken in Multiplayer or both Singleplayer and Multiplayer? (Haven't tested Singleplayer.)
