Discussion and Debate Community Thread
This is a thread like no other in the D&D, much demanded though little heralded...until now.Ladies and Gentleman, in keeping with the Citizens vote and the general positive reactions to such an idea, I bid you welcome to the Discussion and Debate community thread. This unusually for the D&D is basically a more 'relaxed' area where we can sit back, and muse on lighter, or more specific political subjects (Perhaps ones which may not in themselves warrant the effort of creating a whole new thread and researched OP) and our own views in general with each other. Much like an office party, we'll be able to awkwardly get to know one another a bit better, spar a little and talk openly about any and all D&D...ish issues that take our fancy (Sounds like Heaven right?).
Why is this in the Mudpit? I hear you ask (Probably not...but your getting the answer anyway), simply because this is where everyone seems to hang out. We hope this thread may become a 'hub' for the wider Discussion and Debate area, to give us somewhere where the debating community can get together and shoot the breeze exploring politics, history, philosophy, ethics and the like without being limited to a typical threads specific OP.
Of course if any talk in here perhaps develops into something you might wish to make a thread about, or indeed you get any ideas about something that sparks your interest which you'd wish to explore specifically. Feel free to do so.
Now while I know none of us would ever dream of breaking any rules, The serious part must be stated. While the topicality of the discussion is going to be very flexible, the moderation of this thread will be the same as always in the ways you know and love. Disagreements and arguments are as always welcomed (Popcorn at the ready!), but throwing out derogatory remarks is not.
With that, lets see how this kicks off.

Hold them and love them and squeeze them.
The last feminist demonstration in my country (protest against the last machians murders) was declared "not mixed" (heterosexual men were asked to not attend). The reason: our assistance (men active feminism) is sexism as it is a paternalistic attitude toward them and subtract them prominence. (I am explaining badly enough, hopefully there is a true english- speaking feminist here).

got a source? i wouldn't put it past some feminist groups to do this, as there are feminists that also believe any and all penetration is rape, and that they also want to ban pornography even though it employs so many women (they also want to make the wage gap 1:1, so figure that one out). but if they actually asked straight men not to join a rally that's absolutely hilarious and beyond stupid.
Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread
Curiously I only find reviews about it in digital extreme right and extreme left media (and of course in castilian).
I agree that there are some very extremist feminists out there, but I see no problem if (sporadically, moreover) they want to be the only protagonists of a problem that actually only them really suffer and can understand. I understand that our support can be seen as a form of sexism: a form of paternalism and our need to be always active participants and even main characters. (we even get angry when we are told: thanks, but no thanks: we have a problem).

Catalonia is a strange place.
Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread
It is full of Catalans, what did you expect
Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread
After all, it is on their plains that Attila was defeated.

Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread
I thought the Catalaunian plains had a "u" too much to be south of the Pyrenees and were hence exiled to France...
Are you guys still trying to get rid of the oppression by the foreign crown of Castille and Leon//to split away from the glorious Spanish motherland? (delete as applicable)
Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread
the 27th of September Catalan regional elections will be held and the independentistas, if independence forces win a majority, intend to start from there the process of independence. The government of course says it would be illegal (but nobody knows what they would do to avoid it).

Yes, this is TWC's new most popular thread.
Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread
So popular that it doesn't have a full page yet.
I claim this new chat thread in the name of the Thema Devia

You can't really have a community where everyone hates each other.

And look what doesn't exist any more.
Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread
I upvote this idea, but I fear that many of the more, ehm, 'prominent' (read: fanatical!) members of the community cannot really be conversed with in a casual manner due to the vast difference in beliefs. That being said, I know several great people in this community (sumskilz and Danny spring to mind, though there are many whose names I've forgotten).
UHH from one topic to another
Now that Iskar is here(and now that I am here), the Eastern Coalition shall reign more powerful than ever. :whistling
Also, the name of this thread (D&D) brought Dungeons and Dragons to my mind at first... anyone around here who would love a D&D, D&D campaign?
Re: Discussion and Debate Community Thread
Just saw this. I think it should be used to understand what all the right wing nationalist Australians, Brits and Eastern Europeans do with all their time when not posting in the Mudpit. Presumably they spend it contributing positively towards their economies and cultivating their indigenous European values, and pining for the old times before the evil coloureds ruined Europe, and we had nice destructive sectarian wars instead of the horrific hellscape that is Leicester (you can spend the whole day there without seeing a single white person. It's carnage: literally worse than Hitler). Actually better: what do they plan to do after the Eurabia transition is complete? Do they have an area of Greenland or Nunavut set aside to form a colony together?
Oh and also, for any BritNats that are interested, I am now no longer a hypocritical Sean Connery-esque fairweather Scottish nationalist living in London: I decided to cave to overwhelming pressure and move back to the motherland. Even more shocking: it's actually been very sunny and warm since I moved, and many people here have a sun tan.
