INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
If you all have questions about the mod, feel free to ask and I'll answer as soon as I can. We have an official preview thread coming soon, but until then let me offer these fine, high-resolution models by Stealth4Health, appropriate variants of which will be used in the mod.

Yes there will be.
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
Will there be area of recruiment?
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
Yes, Roman forces will be region-specific. Balkans units will be those stationed in the Balkans, Egyptian units those stationed in Egypt, etc.
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
I'm glad to see an attempt on making the historical overhaul set actually in the Attila timeframe. The best of luck to you with your project.
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
Here is another small preview, this time the work of our modeller Charerg. This is a reconstruction of a helmet from Tarasovsky Grave 1784 in Russia, which is dated to the D1 period (c. 380 to 400/420... the divide between D1 and D2 is more blurry than others) and most likely a local manufacture of a Sassanian style. The helmet was found in the burial of a steppe warrior, most likely a Hun.

Here is a preview of the Vesontes (We are getting close to completing our more in depth and close up equipment preview):

Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
The difficulty at the moment lies with reconstructing equipment that has never been reconstructed before. When we start getting past that hurdle, we should hopefully be able to do a proper unit preview.

Attila has so much potential, I'm glad to see modders are still exploring it and improving the historicity of the game :)
Could you share some your ideas/plans for the mod's startpos? Will it be one or several? And which date(s)?
Gorgeous-looking models, btw :)
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
Stunning work! Keep it up

The first campaign will be a recreation of the mid 5th century and will depict the conflict between Aetius and Attila. It will take place on the AOC map to allow for a more detailed look at that campaign.

Man this mod looks amazing! Any idea on a release date? Keep up the fantastic work guys
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
Very excited for this!
I've always been anoyyed at CA that they abandoned Atilla, hope fully this will breath the right kind of life into this era of the total war series that it really diserves!
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
I do want to post a small update for those wondering about progress: we have several members who model for this project but one of our biggest modellers, Stealth4Health, is currently working on a major research and reconstruction project for a museum, and we should hopefully be allowed to use the models from that project for our mod. So there is progress being made, although it has shifted focus for a little while (as well as taken a break over the holidays).
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
How’s the Mod going guys? Has there been progress?
Re: INVASIO BARBARORVM III Discussion Thread
I guess covid must have hit the team hard.
