Hi there! Has anyone else got trouble taking screenshots of battles? (campaign map is fine for me, funny enough). The below pic is only possible, because I've got the GraphicEnhancer sidemod installed, which loads all screenshots as 8mp bmp-files into the M2TW-folder. Using the battle screenshots from M2TW's tgas-folder only gives me parital (~ 66%, mostly top left part) screenshots?!?
Here's a Taksashila general unit 'entering' Alexandropolis:

You mean phalangites? Don't order them to attack. Keep them on guard mode, and simply walk them to range of their pikes. Or better yet, get some ranged units, and with some maneuvering, you can inflict enough damage on enemy to push him to attack you even if you started as attacker. AI also tends to charge quite often when you come too close...move carefully.
Using attack order with phalangites is generally not a good idea, only if you need to use them as flanking force and move them to that position as soon as possible, even at the cost of formation intergrity. Otherwise, just move them.
Notice the last screenshot. I forgot to put them on guard mode, and the line started flexing and lost some cohesion after the combat started.
Excellent screenshots guys... keep them coming!

Roman siege of Patavium:
Wheeling around the ram-carrying mercenary arm of the army after realizing that only a select few walls could be battered down.

After ages of slugging it out at the gates with little headway and having to start sending in my hastati and principes, I pulled a unit of leves around to ram down a side wall. The Roman cavalry are flood through the breach to turn the tide.

This was a very dark battle. I wasn't expecting it to be this way at the time of deployment. Kind of hard to see, but in the end, pretty cool. It lasted forever, my troops were weary, and three full units of mine were ground to almost nothing. In the end, though, we won the day.
I don't think I'll be a fan of sieges against more upgraded cities, though.
I released a new GEM version featuring EBII :)
Here you can see the latest edition in the development, the painting effect which you get with a few changes of the default version::
