Re: [Work in Progress] Haegemonia
Third Century BC. Sparta is only the shadow of itself, its former glory is now far behind. His army, once dreaded, doesn't exist anymore. The homoioi are very few. Having lost a part of its perioikoi cities, Sparta can only deploy few soldiers and mainly relies on mercenaries. Internal Policy is catastrophic. Significant disagreement emerged between Oligarchs and Reformers, and even within the Royal Family of the Agiades, where Cleonymus of Sparta betrayed the City and persuaded Pyrrhus of Epirus to invade the Peloponnese.
However, all hope isn't dead. Areus I showed that Sparta could rise again, when he opposed Pyrrhus, even if Sparta finally fails with the destruction of the Peloponnesion League. Sparta can relie on its alliances with the Ptolemies and the Athenians, with which talks are underway.
Will Sparta change its policy, reform its army and defead Epirus to end Macedonian domination in Greece? If that happens, Sparta will be able to re-take its place of Hegemon.

Re: [Work in Progress] Haegemonia
Is there a reason you chose the same name as my mod? I don't really mind, I was just wondering. The units look great :)

Re: [Work in Progress] Haegemonia
No, it's just a coincidence. Melcor, fixa and l'Aigle started the mod soon after Rome 2's release, and I'm almost certain we had not heard of your mods at that time at MundusBellicus :). Obviously French players know them now, as we know Tetrarchy (which is really great btw).
Re: [Work in Progress] Haegemonia
Okay, cool. Hope your project goes well! :)

Want to see Macedon/Selecuids.
Re: [Work in Progress] Haegemonia
It has been a long time I have not updated this thread, but development is going on! I'm proud to present you...
Bactria is a Hellenistic kingdom created by Diodotos around 250 BC. It lasted until 55 AD.
Diodotos, Governor of the satrapy, declares its independence, taking advantage of the conflict between the Ptolemies and the Seleucids. This Kingdom is far from Greece, however, it is heavily populated by Greeks thanks to
several waves of colonization (starting with the Greeks deported by the Achaemenids until the creation of several cited by Alexander). At the death of Alexander the Great, a
Greek uprising takes place. Their army amounted to 20,000 infantry and 3,000 cavalry.
At its peak, the Kingdom included Bactria, Sogdiana, Aria, Arachonsia, Dragania and the Indus Valley, with its capital Bactria.
The main strength of the Kingdom is a horse based on the Iranian local nobility. In 208 BC, Euthydemos opposed 10,000 riders to Antiochus III, who tried to bring the Bactrian Kingdom under the Seleucid rule. Thanks to the domination of a part of India, Bactrians also have a large amount of elephant wars. Infantry relies mainly on Greeks and local troops.
