Amazing gameplay and visuals once again! Some good animations and nice artwork!
The battle seemed like a disorganised mess to me.
Wow...That campaign map.. :jawdrop: Was really great, I do wish there was more battle footage, though. It was really rushed.
I didn't much like the interviewer either..
really liked the campaign map, great variety of terrain and climate, those lush european forests in contrast to the dusty med
city looked great as well when you construct a new building, caught a few of the building names, different kinds of temples (so safe to assume those will be like they were in Rome 1)
I quite like the styling of the unit cards as well, but I think it might make it hard for some people to identify some units
Yeah that was pretty short......... He said up to 4 players in MP???????????
Trying to watch it again but not letting me grrr LoL
EPIC stuff
stupid interviewer

Got this from the stream, figured I would screencap it at the time.
Just me that was surprised at how big the ballista were? They seemed crazy big! Not a fan of the interviewer at all, I mean it's good that he challenged stuff but he seemed to swing between sounding bored and sounding like a whiny child.
I really wanna see a battle played out properly though, so far they're really rushed and the cameras zooming all over the place! It's not like they'd give too much away by giving us a slow run through of a battle. From what I did catch though it looks amazing, the campaign map (especially the eurpean bit) and the battle although it would have been nice to have seen more detail. I thought the unit card seemed pretty easy to distinguish and seemed to have been changed since we last saw them.
i missed most of the presentation. Hopefully its gonna be posted somewhere.. what i saw was really good
Looked awesome, the giant ballistae were weird. Seemed OP to me, but hey.
The European campaign map looks swag!
Could do with a link to a recording, I missed it!
I could do with one as well. Eventually we should be able to download it from gamespot though.

Then skip backwards to about 06:41:00.
I really loved the campaign map, and it looked so enormous! I was like damn it takes for ever to get to the edge with the camera.
Also the city expansion while you build was really cool! I missed those in the previous titles, and now the campaign map will be much more dynamic. Can't wait !
Rome II was just featured on Gamespot Livecam. IT was announced the game will start around the time of 2nd Punic War.
Just saw it on livecam as well. Poor guy, the interviewer should have been more prepared I think. Created alot of awkward silences
Some screenshots I took:Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
So I watched it again and he said something about MP!!! he said the normal modes head to head and up to 4 players!!!! Sounds like 4 players on the MPC Fellas!!!!!!
Stradar where did you rewatch it? i cant go back in the Livestream.
Maybe I need to catch the video version, but the UI just isn't grabbing me on the screencaps... nor are the stylized DOS-looking unit cards. Are they supposed to resemble black-figure vases, or something? That's really anachronistic for a game that takes place in the Hellenistic era centuries later... really, really jarring. Hellenistic art is really gorgeous and lifelike, not archaic and stiff, without any kinetics. Even a classical red-figure design would look better, if still inappropriate.
I know some people are fans of minimalist UIs, but dammit I liked the old RTW-style UI with columns and faux marbles and scrolls and the like. The whole techie-look just doesn't fit the era.
