Hint: one of the most influential strategy games ever, with a remake that hit the stores last year.
I have tried researching this to no avail. The picture really rings a bell, but I cannot for the life of me put a finger on it. It is surprisingly hard even with the prominence you mention the game has.
The game was release in the mid 90s by a company that, one year before, had relased a somewhat similarly named space-themed game, equally influential as this one.
Is that Master of Magic?
Edit: Yeah, it's that. Just got around to watch the intro. That similarly named game would, of course, be Master of Orion.
