New thread started as old one had to be disposed as per site owner's request. Long story short, these things are being done because of the recent slow downs and lags\503 errors that we are facing.

After her excellent debut album from 2007, this second album from 2011 shows again highest brilliance. Sarabeth, canadian us-american female artist of the Americana songwriter branch. Seemingly she is (still) a hidden gem, while she can easily play in the league of Martha Wainwright or Leslie Feist, whereas her voice and music reminds me in parts to Grace Slick/Jefferson Airplane or Nico/Velvet Underground, but has a very own style - this album is dedicated to her father, who died.
For me, atm. the best british female artist, besides Laura Marling.
Meh, Laua Marling's a lot better I think.
Been listening to the americana music you've been posting by the way, good stuff. Been listening to tons of American folk music recently, especially Townes van Zandt. Have you heard Jim White?

I'm a huge Tremonti fan! Can't :wub:ing wait for this album. He's a grammy award-winning, 3 consecutive years "guitarist of the year", and his solo "blackbird" was voted as the greatest solo of all time in 2011. If you're wondering he's the guitarist for Creed and Alter Bridge.
at 2:24 starts my favorite song preview.

Just wait for Florence's upcoming 'Unplugged' album. I heard (and viewed) already some sole-acoustic stuff (voice and guitar only) of some of her recent songs, it's excellent to say the least. I admit, her two studio albums are partly overproduced, somehow ... nonetheless it's immense talent, what she shows on these studio albums.
Laura Marling is for her very young age phenomenal indeed, just overwhelming.
Great that the british isles "produce" such females.
Townes van Zandt is known of course, not exactly my cup of coffee though, Jim White doesn't say something to me (but Tony Joe White, lol), will look him up, thanks.
I mostly listening to King Crimson atm, but i've been listening to a few of miracle of sounds songs as well like the one below about Skyrim's Nord mead :D
Sarabeth Tucek - Sarabeth Tucek (debut album, 2007)
This excellent piece of americana music and her 2nd album Get Well Soon ( see my post # 13 *) are played regularly in my CD player (yes, i run a separate Hifi CD player instead of using a DVD player or something).
* i wrongly wrote she was a canadian female, but she is us-american, born in Miami, grew up in Manhattan and Jersey.
This may sound harsh cause i can't find more civilized words, but what exactly makes her special ?I found her singing generic at the beginning then i thought she will maybe create some interesting atmosphere but there also i was left unsatisfied . I also couldn't find the lyrics .

All in all it sounded very generic to me .
Obviously a matter of taste ... i find her music very ... special, and you can find music-critics which agree.
Been watching a few of their live performances from the early 80s. Adrian Belew really could put on a show, especially when he's juxtaposed with the cool, calm Robert Fripp just beside him.
The Walkabouts - Ended up a stranger
...in my own house. This work from 2001 is more dark than most other works of this most excellent american band, except for example the following from 2000.
The Walkabouts - Train Leaves At Eight
...for which Chris Eckman writes on the backcover: 'Another name for this album might have been Songs From Continental Europe. That is the place these songs call home. ...'

Easy Money - King Crimson
Somehow after years of owning the [I]Great Deceiver[/I live album I never noticed the third version of 'Easy Money' recorded at Penn State. Or maybe I did, I just never bothered to upload it to iTunes. It's got some neat guitar work at the start, though.

Absolutely wonderful progressive rock, but then I found out it's christian progressive rock! Not sure what to think of this, but oh well, it's amazing musically.
