Yes. I charged my general into spears but even he couldnt retreat. I dont really like it
Quick question. Where to download the 0.92 version of SSHIP?
Really enjoying 0.98 update, i've only had 2, maybe 3 crashes during 100 turns as Eastern Roman Empire so far.
Everyone says that but mine CTD's every few turns or so. Manageable because it is normally after I end turn
In the main download thread, second or third entry.
don't miss 098 so that you can appreciate the changes from 092 to 098 ;)
Yeah the only reason I am downloading 092 is to check out the SSHIP Tweaks mod which I believe you are familiar with. 098 is great though *especially* with the new designs
Playing with Byzantines (Romans) in numerous campaigns I always see that Anatolia is quickly conquered by the strong Byzantine armies, and this would really be the case if it weren't for the typical palace betrayals and the numerous Seljuk armies... So I think the Rum Selyuks should be reinforced with 2 full staks armies at the beginning of the game to put more pressure on Anatolia and that the Byzantines have to take refuge behind the walls of their cities (as it really was), on the other hand the Italian troops of Venetians, Genoese and Pisans who were famous should appear somewhere merchants, the building of "italian trade quarter" could be reformed with more economic benefits but social discontent for foreigners and where you can recruit Italian troops as a militia of crossbowmen, paveses, Genoese crossbowmen, Italian sailors...
It would also add byzantine troops that are missing from the beginning of the game like the menulatoi (byzantine pikemen) and the gasmouli (italic crossbowmen).
And finally if it were possible to add some kind of script for the type of Byzantine imperial government (based on its emperor and its capital Constantinople) and its typical betrayals of generals and relatives, in order to reduce the Empire.
Hi guys! I have a suggestion: it would be better a change between Verona and Ancona. In XII cen. Ancona was as soon as become a merchant republic, and I suppose it's better turn it in to a city ( non castle ); aganist Verona was always a military mach in history - a military border territory - and turn it in a castle. Yes, Verona was one first free italian communes but Castelvecchio is collocated in a strategic military position in the country ( near the passing of Adige, between Lombardy and Veneto; in '800 cen. Verona was a most importantpoint of austrian Quadrilatero fortress! )
Interesting. I think making Verona a castle would enable also better recruitment for Venice (ehm, not so historical but it's Med2...). I'd be probably in favour of such a change, Ancona may stay castle nevertheless, and the Sicilian/Venician player may re-built it into city.
Another historical memos:
1) in 1132, Rey Alfonso I d'Aragò - there's in the start gameplay - was the king of Aragona AND Pamplona ( future Kingdom of Navarra ) and would be a more little correct that Navarra would be under Aragon control;
2) the zengid symbols is the Ismail lion calligram - an specific Shiia symbols!; would be right some turkish symbols ( Zengi was a turks orghuz ) like double headed eagle of Ayyubids or the blazon of Nur al-Din (https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O...-kac-creswell/ we can already find it on the net in the centre );
3) Rum use a banner with the attestation of al-Mahdi - another shiia symbols of twelve imams; it could be correct the double headed eagle.
4) for Almoravid I am not so expert, because I have studied history and politics of Levant and Middle East and not very thoroughly the history of Andalus and Omayyad in Spain but the banner is an histotical, as Libro de Conoscimiento de Todos los Reynos described ( mayby more red and not orange ) but I repeted, it's correct any muslim writing as shahada.
Muslim symbols and banner are "difficult" to recreated because everybody used the color of first caliphate, the black banner of Rashidun with a shahada or some written variants ( recenbtly we have seen with IS o Taliban ) likely egual for the almoravid, almohad or al-Andalus emirates; the exception was fatimidi - a shiia dynasty - that used the "white" agaist the Abbasid black but sometimes the net used the green - I don't understand why but OK; for sunni turks, they are too similar ( only double headed eagles everywhere ).
I think is a easyto create and usedthe same base and change the base color with attestation ( too few original but thery would be historical accouracy! ) because the muslim society are focused on the Umma nor dynisty ( we can see thet in Europe ).
ad. 1 - Interesting. We've actually removed the initial ownership of Pamplona from Aragon, I don't recall precisely why, but it seems it was considered not in the hands of the ruler of Aragon.
ad. 2 - maybe, but we don't have anybody who'd change the whole graphical side of the Zengids
ad. 3 - yeah, I've also saw those double headed eagles for Rum. but - see above.
ad 2 & 3 - maybe you'd make a submod changing the visuals for these factions? It's never to late to become a modder.
About Pamplona and Kingdom of Navarre, they were Independent of other kingdoms, here is the information answered in sship for months, the Basques or "Vascones" were independent from the 9th century until the incorporation to the young Spanish state (Catholic Monarchs) in the 16th century.
https://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...?801634-ARAGON
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Navarre
Some in Broken Crescen already told me that, but I would be never a surgeon or graphic desiner, i'm too inable too use graphic application. At the end, I send them only the templates about some banners but not the final file infortunaly.
The battle stendards are good, anyways I dont have anymore graphic application on this pc but maybe I can try if I find exe on Twcenter.
With Med2 we cannot describe perfectly the feudal system - like Crusader King for example - where a king can have had the "crown" of country but he didn't wield power directly or badly he has never been in this country. They did not integrate territories so as not to irritate the local nobility.
In this case - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfonso_the_Battler - he was the king of Aragon and Pamplona - political/personal union like EU4 system for understand; his son Garcia IV the Restorer - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garc%C...rez_of_Navarre - the first indipendent ( in modern political terms ) king of Navarra ( and not Pamplona) - for the first time he used this title name.
What do I need to do to give my faction leader the "Strictly Religious" trait?
Two ways that I can think of.
1.) give_trait "this" StrictlyReligious
2.) Either meet the following conditions or modify them:
Code:Trigger StrictlyReligious_add_1
WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
Condition IsFactionLeader
and Trait WideTraitSet = 0
and Trait Genocide = 0
and Trait Feck = 0
and Trait Perverted = 0
and not FactionReligion pagan
and Attribute Piety > 3
Affects StrictlyReligious 1 Chance 2
You could for instance delete all of those conditions and add something like:
Code:Trigger StrictlyReligious_add_1
WhenToTest GovernorAgentCreated
Condition IsFactionLeader
and Attribute Piety > 3
and AgentType = priest
Affects StrictlyReligious 1 Chance 50
50% being the chance with each agent created. This would also apply to the AI so you might find a lot of strictly religious folk about. You could put in a condition so that it only applies to your faction and/or your religion if that is a problem.
If it is possible that if you conquest the settlement of Kaerenarcon (Wales) you can recruit welsh spearmen and welsh longbowmen as AOR unit? In my campaign with english i see this welsh troops only in rebels armies but i would like recruit them in their original settlement if you conquest them...
Indeed, that would be a historic plus. ;) As time goes by, SSHIP tries to meet the expectations of players who love realism and history. It's a fascinating job to try to always improve it on these different scriptwriting aspects, gameplay, ai, graphics...etc.
